First Fitness Watch

I bought this watch ~6 months ago to track running workouts. The data it provides keeps me motivated and informed in ways I did not expect. Now I can't imagine NOT wearing a watch that monitors heart rate, stress levels, sleep, and tracks exercises. I plan on upgrading to a watch that has navigation features for wilderness hikes in the next 12 months. This was a great place to start.

5 stars all around

I've had this watch for nearly three years. It's still in excellent condition and functioning great. It's carried me through triathalon training, stroller walks, yoga, indoor bike training, swimming, regular daily life, and so much more. I love the flexibility of the watch faces to display a variety of data. With a quick glance, I can see intensity minutes, steps, calories burned, hr, stress, time, date, etc. I also use the timer function at least 3 times a day. The white color is still vibrant after all this time. The size is great, I'm a 5'7" woman and it looks proportional.

Super Watch for Runners

I used to use the Forerunner series, and ended up with another model when someone gifted it to me. I recently went back to the Forerunner 55, and am so glad that I did; the watch is easy to use, has an amazing battery life, the GPS seems extremely accurate, and I love the "breathe" feature (which is not something I expected to love). I had used a touch-screen watch before, and was a bit worried about going back to using buttons, but it has been an easy transition. My previous watch would end up on different screens if I ran in long sleeves in the rain, as the fabric would get warm and the watch would interpret it as a "touch." No such problem here! I am so happy with this purchase.

Good cost-benefits

I bought this watch a month ago and I'm very happy with the battery and features, and it's a great value for money for the products offered by the brand. The only improvement I'd like is in relation to the brightness of the screen, which is often difficult to see even with the internal light. Other than that, I'm completely satisfied!

Marathon Training

I decided to sign up for the St. Jude full marathon in December. I purchased Forerunner 55 to help with my workouts. I had one of the original Forerunners 15 plus years ago. I love the new Forerunner 55. I can get a satellite connection within 5 seconds or less going outside. It is great for my long runs or my triathlons. I was also amazed at how light it was on my arm. The Garmin app is pretty cool and easy to use. I am very happy with my purchase.

First Impressions

I bought my FR55 to test/compare it to my Apple Watch. I’ve felt my Apple Watch wasn’t consistent in capturing my true stats. So I bought a basic device (FR55), not too expensive, to give it a try. I’ve seen/heard lots of people “swear” by it. Honestly, my first impressions were “I don’t like it.” “It seems more complicated to navigate”, “I don’t like the appearance (UI)…. But I decided to give it a fair chance. After a couple of weeks it’s serving its purpose though I run with both devices to continue the comparison. The Garmin reads faster than Apple but I’ve had the AW for a few years now.

Great starter Garmin watch

I bought it about a month ago. Thought I would be wearing it during running/workout sessions only, but it gives so much useful statistics like sleep, stress, body battery, etc. that I never take it off. Only to charge which is about once in 10 days. It’s rather affordable and functional. Great starter watch.

total crap

weird logic, terrible connectivity to phone, menus stink. If i had the original packaging i would return it. Limited watch faces. They need to stick to GPS and marine navigation and forget the smart watch business. Apple and Samsung are making you look like fools.

Didn’t like it. Returned it.

I was hoping to replace my forerunner 35. But Garmin, like running shoe companies, discontinued my favorite model. This watch was over loaded w/ features for my needs. Didn’t need menstrual cycle, text messages, weather, music, health info, etc. All I want is my mileage, pace, pacing and time. TMI Some of us don’t want a kazillion features.

I love my Garmin!

I bought this right before Thanksgiving and have been loving the coaching feature which has kept me on track to hit new running milestones. I also like seeing how much recovery I should be taking between fitness efforts so I am continuing to perform my best!
