55 Forerunner works

So far I have been able to make it a Hiking/Walking device. I don’t run so there’s that. Sleep tracking works well. They should add in a Percentage score to easily see the good and bad days. My inReach mini is a nice addition with it. Battery life has been 8 days with normal use. Down side I find myself setting the walk and hike activity, which should see on it’s own.

My first watch that I picked up for running! Would recommend this to anyone looking to get their first Garmin. I think that it's the perfect starter watch and I had the teal color -- so pretty! I have since upgraded to a different Garmin as I wanted some more tracking features and access to more activity recording, but I remember the 55 having battery life around a week or so which was great for me!

Awesome watch

So far, the Forerunner 55 is an awesome watch to have. Pretty accurate heart rate, step counter, running, GPS, and cycling functions. I have yet to fully test the water resistance capabilities but I’d bet my bottom dollar on it. I’d recommend on buying a screen protector for it just in case; it comes in handy for people who are prone to bumping their wrist in small/tight places. Furthermore, I was cycling to a local lake to go fishing on Memorial Day and the Forerunner 55 automatically activated a cycling activity. Pretty good stuff. :)

Excellent Running Watch at an Excellent Price!

I bought this a month ago as a replacement for my previous running watch. I run Cross Country, and I compared my watch with other higher-end watches. I was delighted to find that it was extremely accurate and easy to use. I would recommend this watch to anyone wanting a simple, easy to use running watch that doesn't bust the bank, and yet is still very accurate. I am super happy with my purchase!

Great watch that is easy to love for all of its fitness tracking!! The only thing that I would note is it’s a bigger watch and is a little bit bulky. I love using it for running and tracking my sleep at night! This watch is probably better for a more experienced Garmin user as it has a lot more features like more advanced fitness tracking.

Liked it for the first week

It worked really well for the first week I had it. Now I'm having heart rate and calorie burn ratio inaccurate for a couple weeks wasting chunks of time and leading to overexercise to get stats. Can't seem to fix it. Still having to wear a Fitbit on other wrist for back up. Missing the amoled display. I can barely see the screen on this unless I put bright ness on 100. Kinda mad at it cuz I was hoping it would solve the heart rate issues I've had with my other Garmin watches. They all seem to think that while jumping around like and idiot and despite the fact that I take medicine for ADHD my heart rate is 42. Um nooooo.

Lots of features

I’ve only had the watch for a couple of weeks but I like it. I had the forerunner 35 previously and loved the simplicity of all. But this watch does have a ton more features. For example it gives me a planned workout when I want to run. It only takes a couple of buttons hit and it’s ready to do whatever. The battery lasts forever which nice. The alarm clock has a snooze. I’m sure there are lots more features but they are the ones that stand out in my head. One more thing that’s a bit different. When I first got the watch the band kept backing out of the watch band holder. It didn’t seem to stay very long no matter how tight I made it. I ended up reversing the band. It is a bit harder to put it on myself but it doesn’t come out of the holder.

Not for Me

I had a week and found the screen to hard to read. I had to tilt my wrist at different angles and the display was too small for me. I bought the ForeRunner 165 and absolutely love it. The Amoled screen is great along with other features the 55 lacks.

Let's give this one a try

After more than 10 years with the 630, it finally stopped working. What a shame! It was my great companion. It had everything I wanted plus way more features that I did not need nor use. I bought the 55 out of necessity so I was surprised it was not touchscreen. I am still getting used to the buttons. We shall see.

AMAZING WATCH!

Battery lasts forever, I use it constantly to track activities and as my wake up alarm. Love that you can switch the screensaver, super handy when travelling to upload a watch face that shows several different time zones. Very easy to use and set up, I also bought one for my teenage son and he never takes it off. I find the step count to be very accurate and its waterproof which is a bonus as well.
