I have bought the Defender LTX MS tires for 3 separate vehicles that I have owned over the last three years and folks I can tell you, this specific Michelin is nothing short of a nightmare for me and my family. If or when you do find a good set of four, the ride quality is nothing short of phenomenal, but be warned, you might have to go through 12 of these tires to find four that is not defective. The reason why I keep buying this model is the fact that when you do find a good set, they are the most comfortable and with extremely low noise, because as good as the other models of Michelin tires are, most of them are extremely noisy. I have used countless other models of Michelin tires and kind of gave up on them due the high levels of noise, but other than high noise level, they were excellent all round tires. Michelin really need to spend more time in scrutinizing their quality because which ever factory they are using to make this specific model, they are way off the mark. The vibration from the defective ones are so bad that there are times when driving down the highway that I look over at other drivers to see their reaction if they can see my vehicle shaking. Due the vibration issues, I have even been trying to find this exact model tire in the European market, so I could have them ship here to me in the USA, because I was told the Michelin tires that are made in France are of higher quality. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have this in Europe. Michelin should be ashamed to put out this poor quality tire with their name on it.

In 45 years of owning vehicles these are probably the best tires I have ever owned. First I did my research before buying these tires. Along with some other traits, I really wanted a tire with good traction for the snow and ice I experience in Michigan as well as decent rolling resistance so that I would still get good fuel economy with our hybrid electric vehicle. I also wanted a quieter tire and this is difficult to find with a mud and snow tire. I narrowed it down to this Michelin and another name brand tire. After discussing this with my auto mechanic brother he said hands down get the Michelin! I have had these tires on our Hybrid Electric All Wheel Drive Escape for 5 1/2 years now and they have been amazing! Smooth riding and quiet with good rain, snow and ice traction. What has been truly amazing is the tire wear. I have had them on my vehicle for over 6 years and 100000 miles now and am not to the wear bars yet. I honestly think I could safely get another 20000 miles before needing to replace them. FYI, I once had some Uniroyal tires that had 80000 miles with tread still left but they lost all grip as the tires had solidified into a hard plastic like compound. These Michelins are still pliable and get very good traction! Just a reminder that in order to maximize performance and longevity, suspension components such as ball joints and shock absorbers need to be kept in good working order and the wheel alignment needs to be in spec and the tires inflated properly and rotated (being an automotive test engineer I know better and rotate front to rear only and do so every 10000 miles at most).

Bought these tires to replace original tires on 2022 Ram Limited. These offer a much smoother and noticeable better ride. Very pleased

I have driven in the city and on the highway the last month. Tires are very smooth riding and very quiet. I have also driven in the rain and there is no hydroplaneing. Tires are responsive to turns..

I bought my new tire a few weeks ago. Had an opportunity to do a long highway drive. It was like I was floating a cloud. Much better ride than the factory OEM.

You get what you pay for, and the Michelin Defender LTX M&S are by no means the cheapest tire out there. I have tried many other brands of tires, but always come back to this one. If you looking for smooth, quiet ride, good traction & long wear look no further. Over 10K miles driven so far, I fully expect to get nearly 50K out of every set and I never let the tread levels wear down completely on my tires. I drive a mix of highway miles, windy mountain roads, rocky/dirt/gravel roads, rain and snow and these tires hold up better than all the rest.

I bought these tires in 2021 and after 31,000 miles on an 70,000 mile warranty tire, they needed to be replaced. The worse part is that all 4 tires should have been replaced under warranty, but only 2 were replaced. I was very disappointed in my Michelin purchase.

I purchased this tire in 2020 shortly after cupping the OEM Firestone Destination Tires with less than 30,000 miles. I sold the Jeep Wrangler in May 2024 with over 101,000 miles on the vehicle. 73,000 of the last miles were on the Michelin Defender LT MS tires purchased in 2020. The tires were still serviceable with 5/32 tread depth remaining.

Bought a set of these Oct 2018 for my 2015 Ram 2500 to replace the Firestone OE tires at 25784 miles. DOT codes B71500AX0218,0318,5017,&5017. OK on backroads which is most of use, but very bad vibration at highway speeds 70-80mph. Checked alignment and checked for bent wheel - all ok. Rebalanced a month later at 27552 miles. Same problem. Rebalanced and switched Front to Rear at 28571 miles - problem almost completely cured. Rotated by dealer at 35015 miles - problem back. Rebalanced and switched front to rear at 36693 miles and again problem improved to acceptable level. Dealer rotated again at 40488 miles and problem on Interstates back as bad as ever. Rebalanced and swapped front to rear again and again acceptable at 42991 miles. Put 100k miles on F250 with previous design and never had a problem. Put 260k miles on 4 sets of Michelins on 2006 Toyota Avalon - no problem. Put 100k so far on Michelins on 2015 Avalon and 45k on 2019 Sequoia - again no problem - so it has to be something in at least one of the Defender LTX tires most likely one of the ones currently on rear. Definitely not what I expect from Michelin - Currently 45k miles on truck. Trying to figure out where to go next. Not happy with Defenders.

Drove a 2014 CX-5 with Defender LTX M/S tires, went up 10 mils to 235 due to OEM tires being 225. Put 63,000 miles on the CX-5 with these tires and loved them. Traveled from northern Illinois to Florida (Naples) and Colorado (Winter Park) to visit family a few times, and many times up to Wisconsin for fishing or skiing. Perfect traction in snow, good solid ride, no hydroplaning in heavy rain. I do not trust the reviews I read about load tires and bad milage. Just traded the CX-5 in last week for a 2022 Rav4 XSE Hybrid. Picked it up on Saturday and had the comfort tires replaced with LTX M/S tires (again at plus 10 mils) on Monday. Better, more responsive and solid ride, and had a nice snowstorm on Thursday to really try them out. Great tires.
