Absolutely HORRIBLE. They need to go back to their recipes of before 2020. Don't add any oil or cheese or dairy products. Just the recipe from before 2030. That recipe had a nice addicting yummy and laraping flavor that you can't quit thinking about. This one here just taste horribly disgusting and I would rather just have great value recipe compared to this. Or Hunts is even better.

Got this for roommate. She likes Ragu over the other brands.

Until this week (2/4/2025), this sauce had a "non-GMO" label on it, Now, it doesn't. Why? Because it now contains soybean oil instead of olive oil, which I'm guessing was to reduce the cost to manufacture it. I'm fine with soybean oil, but it would be nice if it was non-GMO soybean oil, if that is possible.

It's a good, affordable option for quick meals and does the job when you need something simple. The texture is smooth, and the flavor is mild, which makes it easy to customize with your own herbs, spices, or meat. However, on its own, it lacks the richness and depth of flavor you'd get from homemade or higher-end sauces. It's convenient and reliable but not my top choice for when I want a truly bold and hearty sauce.

The price is exactly where it should be and I love that you can close the bottle up if you don't use the entire thing. This is absolutely a staple in my house and will always be.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all I was very disappointed by the ingredient list. When this product was offered to me it was advertised to have olive oil in it which I was looking forward to trying. When I received the product that ingredient was not present anywhere in the sauce, instead replaced with soybean oil. In my opinion this change makes for an inferior product right there, especially if they had a plan at one point to use olive oil, but if it was otherwise good I would let it slide. Unfortunately the next thing I noticed was the rest of the ingredient list, where I saw that salt was the third ingredient and sugar the fourth (after tomato puree and the aforementioned soybean oil). Again, this is something I would normally let slide, but it appears based on the label that Ragu is trying to make this out to be a ‘healthy' sauce when it simply is not that out of line with any other jarred sauce. All of this would be acceptable if the sauce actually tasted good, but in my opinion it was both too sweet for a pasta sauce and incredibly bland, and had a strange aftertaste. I would stay away from this brand in the future, there are better sauces available even for this price point.

This sauce has a good, rich flavor base, although it is a bit sweet for my taste. I added my own seasonings to lessen the sweetness. I would probably buy again just to have on hand for a hurried meal.

Hate the new recipe. Will never buy again unless they change back to old recipe. Can't you bottle old recipe and call it “original recipe “, charge more for it, I'd buy it. Loved it so much. Whole extended family agrees with me.
