This wasn't very tasty. It was edible enough, but had a weird flavor. Wouldn't buy again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't tried Innovasian products before and thought this sounded decent. I liked that you could purchase a family style box. The box included different cooking options for the chicken and rice separately. We chose to pan fry the rice and air fry the chicken. We then drizzled the sauce on top versus costing it all. Added fresh pineapple juice to the rice to help with extra fresh flavor. It was tasty and not overly powerful for a habanero sauce. I didn't get too much apricot. Overall it was decent.

Before making, I read the reviews & left chicken in the oven a while longer so there would be no "sogginess", cooked the rice in a skillet, and then removed the rice and added the sauce to the skillet to cook off a bit of the vinegar and the sauce was not too acidic.

The pros are that it's easy to prepare and the rice is delicious. The con is the sauce has too much vinegar and the chicken pieces are awful. They're chewy and hard. I had high hopes because we really like the orange chicken but want more heat. But this was a let down. I'm not sure why the chicken is different but it is. Heat wise it's spot on though.

My husband said the sauce was too vinegary for him and it was a bit spicy for me. Cleaned out my sinuses! Great flavor combination and overall very yummy!

I was excited to try this and made this as soon as I got home from purchasing it. This was very easy to prepare. The chicken, rice and sauce are separated into 3 different bags. The chicken can be prepared via oven or air fryer and the fried rice can be prepared via microwave or stove top. I chose the oven and stove top method which took a total of 19 minutes. I thought the sauce was very tasty….reminded me of sweet and sour or orange chicken but with a “kick” due to the habanero pepper.. The chicken wasn't crispy at all using the oven method (definitely wished I used the air fryer) and was very bland on its own. I enjoyed the fried rice by itself and felt that it had pretty decent flavor. My 1 year old daughter ate a bowl of it (without the sauce) and really enjoyed it. Overall, I'd give it a 3. It was semi filling and easy to prepare. The portion is great for 3-4 people. But the bland chicken is somewhat disappointing. If it wasn't for the rice and the sauce, this dish would be flavorless.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Incentivized - I have to say this really exceeded my expectations! It's really quite good. It's easy to make - I followed the preferred directions of baking the chicken in my toaster oven for 20 min and microwaving the rice for 6 min. It's all in 2 separate bags (plus the sauce packet) so you have to make it all at once. The chicken turned out crispy and kept the crispiness once the sauce was added too. The rice was full of a good amount of green onions, red bell peppers, and pineapple. I was kinda shocked how much it looked like the picture on the box tbh. I just have a couple of small complaints. The rice did come out a bit wet for my liking. Definitely still yummy, but I prefer my fried rice to have a drier, looser texture. And the serving size says it's for 8 people but I think if you're feeding adults and it's all you're having for dinner, you'll get maybe 3 people fed max. Even 4 is pushing it, which would be reasonable if everyone had ~2 servings. And my last complaint is that it isn't spicy at all! I saw habanero and got excited, but it's very sweet. Think like an orange chicken vibe. It's really a bit too sweet for me, but overall a good taste.

The rice was the only thing not totally blowing me out of the water, but on day 2 I fried the rice & seasoned slightly, and it was perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Made this tonight for myself and my hubby, and we both enjoyed it! We both ate our fill and still have plenty leftover for lunches. Sauce was very tasty with a good amount of spice without being too much. Chicken breading was “tempura” type which we loved! Only negative is the telltale dark meat flavor—would be better with white meat/slightly higher quality chicken. Overall recommend and would eat it again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't like this entire meal. The rice smelled bad and not even in a good way like how onions smell when you cook them. It was very unpleasant. I didn't use the apricot sauce it was disgusting. My family didnt like it. The only good thing was the plain chicken. I cooked it in the air fryer. It was juicy. I wound up seasoning the rice and chicken to try and salvage the meal.
