This product is not gentle on your skin at all. It used to be but after the great toilet paper shortage of 2020, the texture changed and it tears your skin with the gentlest touch. It is sandpaper. I've been a loyal customer but have switched brands and will not be switching back.

The toilet paper itself is soft and really provides for a stronger paper. I find that I am using less, so it is extending the life per roll due to its durability and strength. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As you can see I received my free sample of Charmin Ultra Strong toilet paper. After placing it on the holder the correct way (over not under) it was put to the test. What more can you say without getting to descriptive but that it did the job. It may be a little rougher than some people may like. One thing that it says on the package is that it is septic safe which is important to me. I noticed that the width of the toilet paper is smaller than another brand that I have in the home. I am not sure if they are saving money this way or why this is the case. Overall this was just another toilet paper not much better or worse than any others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The funny thing is apparently Charmin Ultra Strong was the brand/variety we have been using for months already! When I opened the package and compared the two, lo and behold, they were the exact same. So look at that, I was a convert already and I didn't even know it! As far as the product goes, it's great. It's definitely thicker than the run of the mill TP or that ultra thin stuff in the stall at work. You certainly don't need to spin the roll several times to get enough like you might expect you'd normally feel you'd need. Ultra Strong just feels like a few squares would give you the barrier you want and the ability to do its job. Its not going to tear through or leave bits of paper behind. It really holds together well. And it's soft as well. I was skeptical when my wife initially brought it home that it was going to be like a napkin or a paper towel, feel-wise, because of it's thickness. But Charmin has done a really nice job of blending softness with durability. Overall, the TP is great and we will definitely continue to use it. An added bonus is that because we are on a septic system (and even if you're on sewers), you just don't need to use very much to get the job done. Less down the pipes that needs to biodegrade. And that's always a good thing.

Now I replaced the current roll with Cahrmin ultra strong and my family never complained but they did mention that the rool didn't last as long as the other brand we use. even though it said on the package it was a double roll it seemed to be about the usual size. I mentioned this because if you have a large family you might want to think of a way to limit the ammount of sheets per use. It was strong but not as soft as the other brands we have used in the past. Like I mentioned above it did what it is supposed to. Charmin has done a excelent job taking care of my familyI just feel that when you mention a product is a "double roll" it needs to be such. I feel that if it were cost effective people might purchase it.

I have tried various types of toilet paper to find the right balance of getting the job done and comfort. I had yet to find the exact product for me until I found it in Charmin Ultra Strong. I started using Charmin Ultra Strong for its intended use on the toilet. It is strong and soft. I found that I need to be mindful to use less because it is more effective than other brands. In fact, I use about half as much. As a note, be sure to talk to your children about the need to use less because using too much can cause clogging, as you might imagine. What I found really great about Charmin Ultra Strong is that it also makes for a great facial tissue. Both my wife and I have colds and allergies and we ran out of our standard facial tissue. We didn't tend to use toilet tissues for our noses because it would not really hold the content well. Charmin Ultra Strong holds the content without breaking or leaking and it was comfortable on our noses. Needless to say, we have a new dual use for our new product! Charmin Ultra Strong is really more than just toilet paper-- it is all purpose hygiene care! I won't buy anything else.
