Classic vanilla, look at the ingredients! No preservatives, no guar gum other other junk. Pure, creamy, deliciousness. It's been my favorite forever and continues to be. Add nuts, chocolate syrup, or other things you like if you want to customize, or it's simply fine as it is. Highly recommended!

The ONLY ice cream I have purchased in over 30 years has been Häagen-Dazs vanilla. And I buy a lot of ice cream. I could always depend on Haagen-Dazs to be consistently wonderful. Why would I want anything else? Well, unfortunately that has changed. I've noticed a difference in flavor for awhile, but recently it's become almost inedible. When the new packaging came out, I noticed the mention of a “new & improved recipe.” Seriously? By whose standards? Certainly not those of us who have loved Haagen-Dazs and eaten it almost daily for years. The “new & improved recipe” is such a disappointment that I feel like I've lost an old friend. Unfortunately, the pint I currently have in my freezer is the last, as I will never buy it again.

I picked up the half gallon size knowing that I could not go wrong with the purchase and not wanting cheap out on a birthday treat. Well at least the kids didn't know better. I may as well have picked up any other vanilla as this had the same flavor profile as a store brand or other national brand's vanilla. There was something missing to the lusciousness of taste and mouth feel that I remember. Big disappointment for me.

The taste of vanilla used to be pure perfection—so rich, sweet, and creamy, and always left me craving for more. Now the taste is bland and lackluster. With so many poor reviews I do not understand what is taking Haagen Dazs so long to return to the old formula. Please listen to your consumers, we do not want the new formula! I will pay more for quality, but since this newer and cheaper formula lacks quality, I will no longer purchase. I eagerly anticipate Haagen Dazs' apology for the formula change and its new campaign sharing that they have returned to the quality that was peerless in the ice cream world.
