It does cover the whole bed, you might need to steam it or put it on the dryer to get rid of the wrinkles.

It arrived in a shrink wrap pack that was easy to open and the blanket immediately poofed up. I have to say there was an unusual odor when I first opened it, but it went away after letting it sit out for about a day. I immediately noticed how soft and lightweight the blanket was. It was easy to put on and off the bed plus easy to carry. I love this because it will be good on a bed or just snuggling up when I want a soft and cozy blanket that will keep me warm.
