This generator is for backup power for our home. The unit appears to be very well made, the packaging was very good, and the instructions were also very good. I have not been able to test it because I have not been able to get it to run longer than about 5 seconds at a time. It starts up in the "choke" position, but dies out within a few seconds as if it's starved for fuel. The troubleshooting section in the manual suggests that it might be a "dirty fuel valve", but there is no mention in the manual about where this valve might be located or how to service it. Tried calling the support line, but there was 35 minute wait. I'm assuming that this is an easy fix since the generator was probably warehoused for quite a while after being test-run at the factory, and the problem is probably a minor fuel blockage. I'll update this review after I get some support and get it running.

I bought this for back-up power in case of outage. Almost had the chance to actually use it, but power came back on just as I was getting ready to power up. Anyway... I have everything set us as quick connect - I have a plug mounted outside the house with manual interlock to both of my breaker panels. I had a gas line in a convenient location outside, so added a quick connect. I gave a test one day when I was deciding which breakers to keep turned on. Generator started up nicely both from propane and natural gas (have not tried regular gas). It is pretty loud. I think they state 74db, but I have some experience with measuring sound pressure and this seems louder than they claim. I keep it on a trickle charger so that its always ready to go. One thing that would have been really nice was to have a read-out of amperage or wattage being used so that I would ahve any idea of how much capacity I had left when deciding on circuits to use.

We had planned on purchasing this generator before Hurricane Ian struck...wish we had! Out power was out for 7 days. We have it now and are ready for any future power outages. Upon purchase we tested it. It was super easy to connect to our natural gas hookup outside and ran perfectly!

I did a lot of research on Tri-Fuel generators. Champion brand is not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and my family needed an ALL purpose, multi-fuel, dependable backup power source that is reasonably portable. I couldn't find a negative review from any of the buyers that submitted reviews. Additionally, the product was readily available during this supply chain nightmare. I received my generator within 3 weeks of my order, delivered to my doorstep. I'm very happy with the product and the buying experience and I've already recommended the Model 100416 8000W TriFuel to several of my pals seeking similar.

The generator is for use when electrical service is out. It more than powers what we need, including a room ac. I really like running the generator on natural gas which means no refueling with gasoline or propane. The natural gas hose came with a quick connect which would not fit. I was told by customer support that there was not such part with this generator. After sending many photos and videos over the period of a week, Champion finally sent me a replacement part. It took a week, numerous emails and phone calls for a fix a problem that should have happened in 5 minutes.

I have read and researched different generators out there in the past and a few years ago recommended the Champion brand to my in-laws for a duel fuel propane and gasoline model in the 8000W size for emergency backup. They did not want to store gasoline for long term so it seemed like the best option to get a duel fuel propane/ gas system this way propane stays forever and can be used most times of the year. This was very much the case during hurricane season on the east coast of the US. I decided a while ago that my gasoline generator although functional and over ten years old was a good system but my house was recently converted to natural gas and it would be better to have a system that used that unlimited option in blackouts. The Tri-Fuel seems to be the best system out there for all three fuels. It came with all the accessories to run on propane and natural gas so easy to hook up and run right out of the box. Champion offers two starting options on this unit both pull start and battery. The generator even recharges the battery while running but I will keep it on a trickle charge while sitting off in the garage. Champion even makes a all weather canopy to run it in the rain or snow. It seems like this tri-fuel system is a good emergency standby whole house system that will be there for when I need it and offer different fuel options in a world that disaster can strike at any moment. This will offer comfort to my children and father for when the power goes out and a reliable back up is needed, Also the digital readout is great to see the load on the unit as well as the safety of having a CO2 cut off alarm which will turn off the generator automatically if it senses a CO2 buildup in the area. Of course run this outside never in a building or garage. Also keep some working CO2 detectors alarms around the interior of the house as normal safety prevention anyway. Even called the Champion Help Desk line and had great call with any questions answered. A great product

Haven't had a lot of time with the generator yet but it appears very well-built. Hooked up to the natural gas supply on the house and it fired right up. The electric start is nice and really like the ability to run on three different fuels. Almost looking forward to our next power outage!

Bought this Generator for frequent power outages where I live. I couple this with a 30amp power inlet box and it runs my whole house (minus central AC). I work from home and have small AC unit in my office and this generator keeps everything running so I can keep working.

This is a beast! Bought this to power our 3200 sq ft. house in case of outage. We had a statewide outage years ago that was expected to last several days and didn't have a generator at that time. Fortunately, it only lasted about 12 hours but with all the grid hacking and fire outages we have in CA we wanted to be prepared. Was going to buy a dual fuel generator, but realized the Tri-Fuel would be perfect for us to run indefinitely on natural gas. It also has plenty of power to run our deep freezer and refrigerator. In the event an earthquake breaks our natural gas line, we still have two other fuel options. We were going to buy a standby generator, but this will do everything the standby would do for a lot less cost. It is easy enough to operate so my wife can start it. We hope we never have to use it but we feel prepared now that we have it.

After thorough review of many multi-fuel generator products, decided to purchase this Champion tri-fuel model. The plan is to use natural gas to power it. This model appears to be heavy duty and is a breeze to "assemble". Not looking forward to having another active hurricane season - but this purchase is a great piece of insurance that provides some peace of mind knowing that we'll be able to save the food in the fridge and power a window A/C to provide some level of comfort until the power is restored.
