Works well smells terrible

I had these ordered for work because they are very gentle and don't require anything special to wear (gloves, mask, etc). Everyone hated the smell so much I've had to find something else to order. Please make an alternative scent because I would like to have these for the office!

Smells Horrible!

Really excited to see these in the store, as I have ran out of disinfecting wipes and stores have been out for months. However, that changed when I opened the lid and the super offensive smell made my stomach turn. I don't understand, all of the other Seventh Generation products I used smelled nice. These however do not! Which makes it hard to use them. The smell is even on my hands after I have washed them, thoroughly! The wipes work and are a great non-toxic alternative to other brands, but I will not buy this again because of the smell.

Safe around my birds and doggy

I wanted to give 5 stars, but the smell of them just turns me off, and they are a bit pricey. Otherwise, they work great and are safe around my birds and doggy. They also don't leave streaks on counter tops which I really love. During Covid 19, they were the only ones I could find. I am starting to get use to the smell. I don't understand why they would use this scent.

Hi there, thank you for giving our disinfectant wipes a try. We're sorry to hear that the scent is not a match for you! Since this product uses Thymol, which is derived from the herb thyme, it can have a distinct odor. We have added other essential oils and botanical extracts to complement the scent but we know it may not be a good match for everyone. If you have any other details about your experience you'd like to share with us, please contact us at 1800-211-4279 or info@seventhgeneration.com.

HUGE disappointment

I have used Seventh Generation products with great satisfaction for years. But I recently purchased the Lemongrass Citrus Disinfecting Wipes and was unable to use them. After using the first wipe, the smell was truly repellent, so I washed my hands to get rid of the lingering odor. That did NOTHING to alleviate the stench. I ended up washing my hands 4 times in the next 30 minutes, resorting to Dawn grease-cutting dish detergent for the final washing. Only then did I get any relief from that odor. My hands felt oily, too. I killed me to throw an entire canister of a Seventh Generation product away, but there was no other choice for me.

Horrible smell

Although the wipes themselves are ok, the smell is just awful. I cannot stand to use them due to such a strong and horrible smell that lingers long after use. I will not repurchase nor recommend these to anyone with a sense of smell. Please offer a version that is scent free.

Terrible smell

These were the only disinfectant wipes available at the store so I bought them, only to not be able to use them due to the smell. They don't smell clean at all and the smell lingers. I had to wipe everything down again with another spray. I've seen the responses on here about the main ingredient and pairing with other scents to help, but it's not working! Do not buy these if you are looking for a clean scent - they'll stink up your home.

I love these wipes!

Although the reviews talk about the bad smell. It is a natural smell and not artificial which can take your olfactory system get used to if your used to synthetic. Overall I'd rather use them to kill germs on counters than have chemicals on my countertops that might cause systemic problems to my body. Yes they take some getting used to, but you do. I don't know any other natural wipe that killls germs like these. I will take them over Lysol any day. Right now I wish I could find some on the shelves!

Works great!

I have been using these on and off over the years and the only thing that keeps me from using them regularly is that I am not sure of the biodegradability of the wipe itself. I have been cautioned that other mainstream wipes contain plastics and degrade very very slowly. Hence the reason I don't use them. What's the report on seventh generation?

The smell is a great NATURAL smell!

Great product! Love, love, love the smell. It is strong but you can tell it is naturally derived AND that it will kill bacteria and viruses. I don't want a flower scented, bleach scented or fake scented product, that is not the point. The point is these wipes are made from botanical ingredients but at the same time super efficient at getting the job done. I am that consumer that turns down the Lysol, the Clorox scented products for something a lot healthier for my home environment. Don't change this product ever!!!

Smells so good

I'm not sure why there are so many complaints about the smell. These wipes smell so good. I use them as often as I can when I clean something. They dry somewhat quickly when I wipe it onto something, but I use a paper towel as I am wiping to help remove some residue (I clean the stove with them after dinner a lot). I buy these wipes really often.
