When I wanted an additional trash can to use for recycling, I didn't expect it to be so difficult to find one that would a) be stainless steel so it looked nice next to my other trash can, b) be 13-gallon so my regular trash can liners would fit it, c) have a way of opening without using my hands, and d) be reasonably priced. I looked a lot locally but everything I found that I liked was $90 or higher. I'm glad I finally looked online. I knew this can would need batteries of some kind to operate, but I wasn't expecting 3 C batteries. In full disclosure, it was probably somewhere on the product page and I missed it. But that was the only hiccup in getting it set up. After a quick trip to the store, got it running properly and it has been working well in the several weeks since. I really appreciated free shipping to home. That made the purchase easy and seamless. Good product and simple ordering!

We wanted a stainless garbage can for our kitchen that was wider than it is deep, but still holds a lot of stuff (and didn't cost a fortune like most of the Simple Human cans): this one was perfect! The fact that it had the auto sensor for hands-free functionality was an added bonus! My only gripe is that we have it in a spot in the kitchen that we pass by frequently, and it almost always opens up as we pass it. Only mildly annoying, but we love that it cuts down on germs and odors!

I've had countless step trash cans, each one lasted maybe 6 months before something went wrong. With this can, you don't have any levers or mechanisms opening the lid. It's a simple, battery-powered, lid that operates by the sensor or the override buttons for open and close. It's excellent. It senses if you're still in front of it (like if you're taking longer than normal to pour something into the can, etc) and it stays open. I've had zero issues, thus far. I would recommend it to anyone. Much much better than the junk $50 step cans out there!

I just got it, I do like that is very smooth and the top is wide enough to empty garbage from any other container, I hope it will last longer that my previous one that is from another manufacturer that only last 2 years, price was better than my previous one

This is my second trash can purchased from Walmart. The first one was about 3 yrs ago. The motor quit working. The new one isn't quite the quality of the first one- lid isn't as heavy and the ring that fits on can where you place lid is cheap and broke within a week. Overall like the trash can

Considering the price of Stainless Steel trashcans I was hesitant to purchase this because of the low price and the fact that it was touchless!I am so grateful to all the people who took the time to post reviews because that was my deciding factor and I am happy to say this product is wonderful!

This trash can is exactly what I was looking for. I cook a lot and tend to have messy hands when throwing away egg shells, onion peeling, etc. With this trash can I don't have to make a bigger mess. I just put my hands near the trash can and the lid opens. It also has another setting that you can use to push a button to open and close. If there's something that stinks in the trash can, instead of waiting 3 seconds for it to close, I just push the close button.

This is was a replacement for one that was three years old. We have been very happy with this can so we replaced with the same. I have have other touchless cans but this has by far been the best. Batteries last a long time, there is no lip on the can making it hard to get the full bags ou, and overall a good buy for the money.

We've owned several of the touchless trash cans and our last one finally died so I searched everywhere for a new one. Walmart was the lowest price by almost HALF of what other retailers were charging for the exact same product. Said it would be shipped to my house in 5 business days but made it here in less than two for FREE! Thanks again walmart, you ROCK!

Very nice trash can. Not only does it look sharp, but I really like the operation. The lid pops open upon the sensor of your hand, so you don't even have to touch it to open it up. I like that a lot, especially when I'm cleaning up and don't want to touch anything until I've washed my hands.
