Works like a champ

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I applied this Scotts Triple Action to my lawn and wow ! My lawn is so thick now and no weeds. It worked so good that between this product and plenty of rain I'm having to cut the lawn 2 times a week. Good problem to have.

If I could give a minus, I would

This was a waste of money. I have more weeds now than I had prior to application. I use to trust Scott's, now I think you're just paying for a name. I'm done. I know they have a 100% guarantee. Unfortunately, I don't keep receipts from a fertilizer/weed control product thinking I'm going to return it. All marketing.

Great overall performance!

Not sure why this product has low-ish star rating. I used this for the first time this Spring. I usually use the weed and feed turf builder for my first application, and it did ok but I was always itching to get the next application down to try and get a full lawn. This triple action made my lawn just about perfect! Dark green, no weeds, bare spots from the heavy snow we had this winter are already filled in. I will use this product from now on.

Worked well.

We live in South Carolina, just across the border from Charlotte, NC. We applied Scott's Triple Action in mid February. Four weeks later, the lawn is a deep lush green and the weeds are in check. Normally we would have used Scott's fertilizer plus Haltz and followed up with another round 6-8 weeks later. This what is routinely done in this area to control crabgrass in this area. My question to Scott's is: Should we use Triple Action in the same manner? What would the interval be? Four months would put us into June, which is too late into the Southern summer to be putting down another application of fertilizer. According to The agricultural extension service at Clemson putting down a nitrogen fertilizer at that point in the summer would promote issues with funguses in the lawn, which with the high humidity here, is a common problem.

Want to kill your lawn? Use this product.

Bought this three weeks ago to support newly growing grass. The grass I had planted was growing healthily for 3-4 weeks. I hadn't cut it and was watering regularly as directed. I used a spreader to spread the Turf Builder triple action, followed watering and care directions and within days, grass bleached out and burned. It killed grass that I had spent time, money and effort on and converted something that was looking really nice into a redo. Shame.

Everything needed in one bag!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action is my go to fertilizer for my front lawn; my pride and joy. I applied it to my lawn 3 days ago to prevent crabgrass, to kill a wide variety of weeds and to feed my lawn all in one application. Furthermore, it is a season long fertilizer that enables me to treat my lawn with "1 bag" as opposed to having to buy "3 different bags" of fertilizer. This product saves me time and money!

Does not work

This product does not kill clovers. Not sure it feed or prevents anything. I applied to pristine conditions per directions. Clovers are flourishing and have new crab grass to start the season. Waste of money. Have like other Scott's products, this one is does not work.

We are sorry that you are disappointed with your purchase of Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action. This product will control actively growing clover, but will not prevent it. This product does not control mature crabgrass or other existing weeds. It prevents crabgrass if applied before temperatures reach 80 degrees (crabgrass starts to germinate once temperatures reach the 80's). After 4-6 weeks, you may apply a clover and crabgrass control. We want you to be confident in our products; therefore, we offer a product guarantee. To receive more details about this, please contact us at https://tinyurl.com/y8nvfsca.

Do not recommend

Only good thing is I didn't pay full price and got it “on sale”. Although I don't consider the on sale price worth it for this product. Clumpy, even when stored in climate controlled area. Applied it, after breaking up the clumps, and was not satisfied with its results. Even sadder thing is I bought 2 bags to apply another later. Do not recommend and will most likely call it quits with Scott's products, as this isn't the first time they've let me down.

Excellent product !

I originally only bought one bag of the Scott's turf builder triple action because of all the bad reviews. Before I invested a large amount of money I had to test it out for myself. Wow, this stuff is amazing. It killed all the weeds that were currently growing and turned my lawn a beautiful dark green all within a week. I went back and bought 2 more bags to finish the lawn. I am so impressed with this product even with the few clumps in the bag.

Instructions on bag and online are different

Good After noon, This weekend I decided to give Scotts triple action a go at the crabgrass starting to take my front yard by storm. I bought the 4000sqft coverage bag and read instructions 3 times. I even had my wife look them over because the larger bag I seen the store said water, apply, wait 24hrs and water in product. On the smaller bag it states to apply and wait 24hrs than water BUT........ the scotts website says to "Apply to a wet lawn on a calm day. After 24 hours, water the lawn to wash particles onto the soil. For best results, apply using a Scotts® spreader." I applied it to the DRY lawn with temps between 62-72 degrees. I'll wait to see if it kills and/or prevents anything. two days after application I have seen no results. PLease add the watering before instructions on the bag like the website states. Thank you

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action and appreciate your feedback. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we apologize for any confusion. The product packaging states (Step 2 of directions) "Make sure that the grass is wet from dew or sprinkling before applying. (This helps the particles adhere to weed leaves to produce best results.) We will pass your comments and concerns on to our Team in charge of package labeling. The listed weeds will twist and curl within a week of applying product. After a week, the entire plant will begin to shrivel and roots will begin to dry. Complete control can take 2-4 weeks. High or low temperatures (below 60 and above 80) or lack of rain may delay total control for up to a month. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.
