Decent

This was a decent shelf, and if you factor in the price this was actually an excellent shelf. I was able to put it together myself without aid of a husband and I'm a short gal with arthritis in my fingers - so that means that pretty much anyone can put this together even if they don't know what they are doing. I have other shelving units and this one isn't quite as "heavy duty" as they are (but it was much cheaper), but I have no problem stacking this up with jugs of juice and heavy 24 packs of soda. It's stood up well. I use mine in the garage to hold overflow groceries that I also bought from Walmart. Seems somehow fitting. Perhaps Walmart should have provided me with this shelf on the house, as it is mostly stocked with their merchandise anyway.

Very unhappy

They changed this rack so that it doesn't have the bracket to hold the top shelf to the bottom section. So they want you to put the shelf in the middle of the joining part which is very unsteady and will definitely not hold the amount of weight they say it will. It's completely ridiculous that they deleted this part from this shelf. The one I bought last year was nearly perfect. I expected it to still be the same. Literally makes no sense that they made this change. Very frustrating

Boxes opened and pieces removed

These are great shelves. My problem is that both boxes were opened and the Post Couplers were removed from both boxes. I guess couplers are in short supply. I made two short shelves instead of one tall one. I'm not happy about that. Every box should have couplers.

Broke one the first use

The steel frame is good but the boards that make up the shelf are cheap and can't take load. okay if you want to put light stuff such as cloths. the first thing I put was a big full paint bucket and the board broke into 3 pieces! so, bottom line don't go for this one if you want to put more than 15-20 lb in each shelf

Not built like they use to be.....

Inexpensive = Cheap. The powder coated metal frame is very thin. Takes two people to connect the bottom section with the top and doesn't appear very stable. We set up two racks end to end and used zip ties to hold together and add more stability. The pressboard shelf base is thin... 1/4 inch. Be careful as to how much weight you actually place on any given shelf. Definitely not built like the old racks of 10-15 years ago with thick metal framing and 1/2 - 3/4 plywood shelf bases.

OK

Items damaged in shipment and shipment delivered at wrong time. Directions to put storage racks together were poor or at least lack enough detail. Difficult to move racks without falling apart. Other than that OK and we will keep them. Recommend to a friend with reservations.

good quality

the directions were not detailed enough. This isn't something I do all the time & by the time I go to the 3rd set I figured out how to get the particle board in place without chipping it off. I had to twist & turn the sides to make it work. Could not get the side brackets together using an enclosed bracket. Had to purchase screws & bolts to finish putting them together. There should be one bracket with longer attachments to accommodate the extra width.

Unsafe

The design has the top half vertical bracket sitting on the bottom half only on the very thin angle bracket edges. Other versions come with "couplers" to produce a more solid interconnect solution. Once again a vendor cuts cost to save a few bucks and makes an unsafe product.

Great product, however....

This shelf is very sturdy for the price. However one of my shelf brackets was missing the knob piece that slides into the corresponding hole in the frame. The particle board shelves aren't the greatest but usable. I would probably refer people to the laminated shelf style but stay with the Heavy duty style shelving.

Great shelves

Love these shelves. So simple to put together, only need a rubber mallet to tap them together. I really loaded them down and even though the shelves themselves are pressboard type material, they hold a lot of weight and haven't shown any signs of bowing and needing to be flipped over after several months of use. I bought mine in the bundle package of two racks, they're cheaper that way.
