I've purchased this item multiple times, but something changed with the packaging about two years ago. The jar is almost impossible to open. This time the jar busted while was trying to pry and/or wedge the lid off the jar so I could open it. Super annoying when you're in the process of cooking

I have bought this many times in the store and never had this issue of it not opening. Super disappointed

It's smell more of fennel seed than basil
