My father's birthday rolled around and as usual, I was struggling with gifts. Then this item popped up on Walmart and I knew it was an easy win. As someone who refuses to use ice-machine ice (store bought, only), I was nervous that he'd hate this ice too. But this is some industrial quality ice - perfect, clear cubes. He can't get enough of the visuals OR the melt-rate. He's a real ice stickler, but this is his new favorite toy. No brainer. I am writing this review as part of a contest.

Read what you are getting. Yes the ice comes out as a big "brick" of ice. However, that is what it is supposed to do. It is easy to break with the scoop. The only thing I wish is that it recycled the water to make ice again, but that isn't a feature on most ice makers like this one. I absolutely love being able to make ice that lasts for ice tea, water etc. I would not trade this model.

I was reluctant to purchase this ice maker due to the varying reviews... But I've wanted a Clear Ice maker for a couple of years. So I finally bought one. It does make mostly clear ice. I was using just tap water and would say about 90 to 95% clear. It pumps out a cycle about every 20 mins. and it's pretty quiet. I got 7 harvests per fill. After every harvest I placed the ice in a ice bucket and gave a couple of taps to break up the slab into cubes and stored them in my freezer. For the money, I think it's a keeper.

Does what it says. you truly get crystal clear square cubes. However if you don't empty it they melt pretty fast, and the water on the bottom doesn't circulate for some reason, just stays there and you must take it out and clean it, which is a nuisance. other than this it's awesome and exactly what I needed since I'm a true ice snob. Also the other reviews are wierd. what's up with that.

The ice that this makes is great and it produces it quickly. Unfortunately it only lasted 1 year, it quit pumping water and despite trying all troubleshooting recommendations I still could not get it to pump again. I liked the ice so will that I bought another one to replace it. I just hope it last s little longer.

Great quality of ice on the Frigidaire 40lb compact ice maker! Would be great for cocktails or parties. It's also pretty cool to watch the ice get made. The stainless steel finish also looks great. I didn't know I needed an icemaker until I used this. I am writing this review as a part of a contest.

Damaged unit. The box didn’t seem to have been previously opened, but upon unboxing I found that the see through window is cracked, and while the protective film was in place and again it didn’t seem to have been used, there were various deep scratches and a dent on the side of the unit. For the price I paid I hope I can return or exchange this in store.

This ice maker is the perfect little compact product I need to deal with keeping my drinks fresh. I do not have a refrigerator which make ice, and I am constantly running out of ice and forgetting to refill my rubber trays. No more! This handy machine always has ice ready, and I love that it only requires a regular plug in to function. A huge convenience!!

I have had other countertop ice makers and this one is far superior to any others. It is fast and the ice is nearly clear. Only drawback, which doesn't bother us, is that it drops a sheet of cubes and they need to be broken up. Not a big deal as they break easily when put in ice bucket or plastic bag. Walmart has a very fair price for this unit, and no shipping charge. Buy it!

After 7 months the machine wouldn't drop ice so it continues to form into a huge solid chunk. I loved this machine sooo much... I did buy the warranty but walmart says it should still be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Good luck finding a number to contact them. It makes plenty of ice 😅😅 ( no pun intended) but trying to get in touch with someone is almost non-existent
