Flies are definitely attracted to the trap. However, if you have a minor problem, after about 2 weeks, every fly in the neighborhood has been drawn to your yard.

if you have a fly problem, these fly catchers REALLY WORK. I set one up about 50ft from my patio, hanging from a tree, and my fly problem is gone. They do have an awful smell (that's what attracts the flies) so set it up in a well ventilated area.

Very easy set up, simple design, very effective. Reasonable price. Have Four of them within 50 feet of cow pen and keeps flies away from house and deck. Once bag is full close up and put in garbage.

I feel like this thing attracts more flies than it would if it wasn't outside. It has a very bad odor smells just like a dead animal. No wonder the flies are triple worse than what they were in my backyard.

I don't like the smell if down wind. We have a lot of trouble with flies in the summer in Florida but this bag fills up fast with flies. If it didn't smell so bad, I would hang one in my kitchen

The odor is interesting but not having to deal with annoying flying insects is better. It's unbelievable how many insects (flies and hornets) are accumulated.
