I got this thing to control the flies in our back yard. It smells really bad, but it really draws the flies in. Look at how many flies it caught in 5 days. Be careful about setting it up within possums reach. It appears that one of our neighborhood possums was also drawn in and chewed through the plastic on day five. The next one won't be so close to the ground. I sealed it up in a gallon ZipLoc before throwing it in the garbage can.

The setup was easy. Directions are simple. String, rope, wire, etc. used to hang the bag, is not included. Be sure to have some type of rope, wire, or string that is strong enough to support the weight of the water as well as flies once full. I used doubled up fishing line which worked well.

This trap was great about attracting flies, thousands of them! It definitely made a huge difference in the buzzing around my yard and the flies swarming my door to come inside! The issue I had came when I discovered that the trap isn't actually toxic. I thought the flies got trapped and the solution killed them. Turns out they only die from being trapped/drowning and have laid eggs in the trap which are flourishing! While the flies can't get out of the trap, maggots absolutely can! This flaw keeps me from being able to use the trap for its full duration of “30 days or until dried out/not attracting flies” I got about 10 days out of the trap before the maggots overwhelmed it and began crawling out of the top. Also, ew… I thought all the fly contamination would be contained to the trap unless I spilled it.

Directions are confusing. You need to have string to hang. Its not included. From looking at it, I cant believe it will work but we will see. I haven't opened the product that attracts them yet because I read it stinks. I cut it to open and it was wrong place on the trap bag. Had to tape it closed. Hard to rate since i haven't used it. Have to add water.

Second time buying these, first round worked great and collected an entire bag of flies. This time after a week and about half full, I went outside and smelled something horrible and the corner of the bag had busted and spilled rotting flies below. It was so nasty!

product works great, however, Walmart displayed the item instead of leaving it in the box. You have to fill item with water to activate. I added water and it immediately drained out bc Walmart put a hole in the bag to hang up to display! Home Depot has them displayed in a box. I'll never buy this item again at Walmart.

Pros: These traps are extremely compact for storage. Buy several to have on hand. VERY effective. The time to reach max efficiency depends on heat and sun. Place about 30 to 40 feet from doors, or outdoor sitting areas. Remove when full, carefully place in plastic bag and seal. Throw away. Cons; Odor is very strong. Which makes them so effective. Place downwind. May require a water refill if weather is extremely dry.

Easy to hang and works. Full of flies by the end of summer.
