Thoughts from a utility-scale battery integrator

Overall this is an excellent unit with plenty of features and options to customize how you want to use it. I'm personally using it for smaller devices so the 1800W capacity is nice but not necessary. New firmware updates have been brining even more features to the unit which is a plus. I tested the battery capacity and it exceeded the 1024 Wh stated capacity, so you're getting what you pay for. Also the LiFePO4 battery chemistry is far superior to other cell chemistries and is what utility-scale battery storage containers are using. Solar charging works extremely well. I was using (4) 100W Ecoflow panels in the winter and was able to get about 395 Watts using my professionally mounted patio chairs. Here's some of my recommendations to get the most life out of you battery: - If you're storing it for long periods of time, maintain the charge around 40%. - Most utilities set the charge settings to be 98% and discharge down to 2% and they cycle batteries almost daily. I'm not running my unit that hard but keep the 2% and 98% setting the same. - Minimize the depth of discharge. Discharging from 100% to 0% will degrade the battery faster than discharging from 100% to 50%. If you're cycling the battery every day I'd recommend doing further research. - Enable slow charging. It adds less thermal stress to the components and there's no point to use the fast charge unless you're in a hurry. - You may notice it will discharge for a while around 0-1%. The same thing happens with grid-scale batteries. I would recommend discharging the battery fully, recharging to 100%, then discharging it back to 0% at least 2 times. This will help train the the battery control unit to be more accurate. Other observations: - The unit is fairly heavy but the carry handles are well built and I felt comfortable carrying it one-handed by a single handle. -I use the unit for powering my modem/router and the UPS feature switches fast enough so they maintain power upon loss of AC to the unit. There is a very short delay (30ms I think per the manual) so critical non-capacitive loads may cut out. - The fan is fairly loud/high pitch around the max output. Around 1000 watts it sounds like a regular fan. - There is an 'AC Always On' setting. This will keep the AC outlet relay energized and will slowly drain the battery, even if no AC loads are on.

Excellent backup power

I have only had this for a month now but it has shown to be a quality source of power. With 1500w it packs a punch. With the quick charging you're able to plug it in for a few hours and be ready to supply power to anything you need on a weekend of camping. The fan is a little loud but is definitely strong enough to keep it cool.

Awesomeness

Bought this a few weeks ago and haven't run into any issues. Summer is pretty brutal here but a quick 45 minute drive will get me to Lowe temps. It's nice to have a cooler but hated the thought of having items floating. Got myself a nice cooler /freezer so this delta and the extra battery is going to keep it going for the weekend. Also, starting a remote job and this bank will come in handy to power the RV Starlink dish for internet. The design and quality of this product is really good. I had the River Max and it's about the same quality. The only thing you might need to get use to is when the 3 fans are blowing full speed.

Great for power outages and road trips

We live in an area with above ground power lines and outages occur after windy storms etc. We needed a generator to keep our fridge cool and have a backup power source to make the outages less of a concern. I did lots of research for gas generators but wasn’t happy about having to maintain them, go outside to start it, and run extension cords through the door or windows. Enter the Ecoflow! Although it won’t run as long as a gas generator, it’s so much more useful. The Delta2 is no bigger than a toaster oven and is light enough to carry with one hand. We have used it in the car for powering AC devices and otherwise keep it on the workbench where it’s ready for home backup. I prefer the battery chemistry in the Delta 2 and hope it will last longer then a traditional lithium ion pack. One feature I hope could be provided via software- it would help to be able to manage not just the AC charging speed, but be able to put it into a long term maintenance mode. I find that it continually uses power when plugged in and left on. It would be nice to have a storage mode where it only charges up if the storage drops below a threshold.

Delta 2 Saved My Bacon During Hurricane Ian

I got the Delta 2 during the launch event, not realizing that just two weeks later I would be depending on it during Hurricane Ian. During the storm, we lost power and right away, I pressed the Delta 2 into service. The unit kept my refrigerator on for over 9 nine hours while the storm raged outside. Once the worst of the storm passed, I was able to start the generator and used it to recharge the Delta 2 in just about an hour. I love the app which shows how much charge is left and details about power input and output. I am now on day three without power and have already been through three-four cycles of using the battery and recharging it. It's currently powering my desktop computer and 43" monitor and it shows it could go another six hours. The Delta 2 is amazing, and it literally saved my bacon during Ian.

Fantastic Unit

I have several Power Stations, even some I built myself, but nothing come close to this. EcoFlow has really outdone themselves. The feature rich unit is strong, powerful, yet extremely lightweight and even expandable. I bought the Extra Battery as well. The ease of use and portability make this my favorite hands down. This unit packs a ton of power and features into an really small package. The WiFi feature allows me to keep an eye on it from anywhere, Just like my off grid solar for my home. I can easily look to see the SOC, loads, solar input and many settings. The Delta 2 along with the Extra Battery are the best companions for off grid RV’ing, parties, worksites, power outages, emergencies and so much more. I reach for the Delta 2 and its extra battery when I need power to go from now on. I have portable solar panels to keep it topped off. This is by far my favorite power station, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for one. It gets 5 stars from me!

Camping Essential!

I originally purchased this to run a diesel heater while camping, but it has done so much more. It will run this heater a solid 3 days. It is also great for running LED lights inside my tent as well as blowing up an air mattress. I was originally going to purchase a smaller unit, but I'm so glad I chose this one as it will run everything that I need and then some!

I love the compact weight & power delivery!

I am a 75 YO woman & bought my Delta 2 & 2 flexible solar panels to transition/downsize from a RV (Roadtrek, commercially built on a Promaster Hightop chassis) to a self build camper Ford Transit Connect. The old RV had a factory installed 200 watt solar w/ a 2000 watt inverter & 2 AGM batteries. The thought of trying to install a similar power source in a much smaller van was intimidating! Then I found this 27 pound Delta 2 self contained power station. Voila! I can easily lift it, it has a tiny footprint, & the flexible solar panels are light, portable & powerful. Meets all my needs. I can expand it to double size to bring in house if there is a power outage. Was reasonably priced for all the bells & whistles. I am delighted!

Everyone should own one!

After extensive research and reading reviews, I decided on a new Delta 2. Shipping was quick and it came with all the necessary cables to start using it right away. Months of use later and I’m still extremely happy with my purchase. I would highly recommend one of these for any power down situation, camping, or emergency. It also features expandable battery storage so it can grow with my needs. I will be buying another one for my elderly parents.

Powerful and easy to use

Honestly happy I waited and bought this EcoFlow generator over competitors. With the LiFePO4 battery this generator will be around for a while. It's quick to charge, and some say it's loud, but I do t believe so. The interface is easy to use and the app gives you the ability to customize how the generator functions. I was able to watch t.v., charge my phone, and laptop for 4 hours and the battery only dropped about 30%. Can't wait to take it out camping this spring!
