Time consuming to assemble.

This is a nice storage box. Far from water proof. It is a nice size and will hold numerous patio accessories. Not close to the same quality of the old Rubbermaid products. It appears they have have adopted the philosophy price is more important than quality. Rubbermaid use to be a world class company with best in market products. I can't get over the assembly process for this chest. It is necessary to take a hammer and screw driver, per instructions, and beat our eight plugs in the base of the chest. This takes at least 20 minutes and should have been performed during the manufacturing process. Additionally, there is no pre-drilling where the holes to attach the straps (cheap) which are needed to be mounted to prevent the top from falling backwards.

A few troubleshooting options for a deck box: To verify correct assembly, you will need to open the deck box and look down at the floor. If you can see a part number molded into the plastic or there are deep dents and "valleys" visible, your floor is upside down. Disassemble the unit and flip the floor over so that the "smooth" side is facing up and the sloped lip of the floor is in the front; reassemble. Please note that the newest version of the deck boxes do have a redesigned floor. With the new floor, there are insertion points/tabs for the side panels that need to be removed using a hammer and screwdriver. If these are not removed, the side panels do not properly click into the floor and can be very unstable. For further assembly assistance, please contact Rubbermaid Consumer Service at 888-895-2110.

Good product

Product was good. I was looking for something a little more secure, but am still happy. I would suggest that you punch out the holes for the bottom piece ahead of time if possible because it seemed like an unnecessary hassle for the end user.

Dont buy!!

Dont waste your money! I put this together easily but with the slightest movement the sides come undone. They do not snap together with a tight fit. I could also see light coming through the sides. There is no way this is weatherproof
