The old recipe was wonderful. ingredients: Wheat flour, water, sourdough starter (bacterial culture, wheat flour, water, vital wheat gluten), sea salt, oxidizing agent blend. Basically 4 ingredients and a small addition of the oxidizing agent to help it mature faster. The new recipe I got the other day our 4 year old, who loved the old sourdough took one bite and spit it out. They added yeast, rye flour, soybean oil, malted barley flour, and xylanase. The new enriched flour is 6 ingredients! It doesn't taste anything like sourdough bread anymore. I won't buy this anymore. Not chewy and crumbly. Change it back. Yeast isn't in a true sourdough. It's basically a rye bread now.

We love this fabulous bread. HOWEVER, my local Sam's Club (Lewisville, TX) keeps showing this as out of stock for pickup or delivery for the past couple months. When I called the bakery they told me they had plenty in stock. Not sure if it's an IT issue or what but despite my complaints and someone supposedly from cs reaching out to me, nothing has changed. Still unavailable for pickup or delivery.............

I like this sour dough bread and now it is sliced bread and pieces are so thick which I don't like it .actually I have a bread slicer so I can slice the thin slice . I wish they will put both types of bread .. like unsliced and sliced … so every customer will be happy .

Just went to sam's club 4/11to check if this was in stock since the website said no.. I walked in and found the rack. To my amazement, since i've been buying this product, it's not the same product. They must have got a new vendor I bought one anyways and it's terrible not even a taste of sourdough. Does anybody ever taste their product at the corporate level? I will not buy this until they go back to the old. I'll be returning this item I would not purchase

This has been my absolute favorite sourdough bread. However, today we bought it and not only is it much smaller than every time we bought it in the past but it taste like Italian bread instead of sourdough. I really hope you guys did not change this for good because this bread isn't worth the price

Absolutely the BEST sourdough within 100 miles. This is the foremost reason I keep my Sam's membership, no kidding. It is superb sourdough made the way it's supposed to be and baked to perfection. If you're a sourdough fan, I think you'll love it. The only problem is that it is frequently out of stock. I guess I'm not the only one who loves it! I've learned to buy an extra and freeze one although I find that it's still not enough. It's simply that delicious!

have purchased 2x dry both times

I have purchased this sourdough bread at Sam's for years because it is genuine sourdough with no bad ingredients like soybean oil. It hasn't been in the store for some time now, and I've started buying bread elsewhere, but I do miss this loaf...

The sliced version is not as good as the whole round version. The slices are too thin which make for very hard toast. The whole round has better texture, better taste. I've tried the sliced twice now and will no longer buy. I used to buy the round weekly, please bring back the whole version!

this is the only sourdough bread i like from any grocery store and the one from Trader joes when i can't get the one from sams. this one is by far the BEST SOURDOUGH! IT HAS A TANGY FLOUR FROM THE FERMENTATION PROCESS, WHICH IS GOOD FOR YOU GUT. i also love that they have new packaging now. make it look more artisan. love it.
