My son helped me put it together, the only annoying/hard part was there are no predrilled holes for the plastic pieces but otherwise the instructions are clear and to the point. The kids didn't wait for me to put it outside (it was raining anyways) before playing with their new "fort" they ate their snack and had me put it in front of the tv so they could fill it with pillows and blankets and watch movies. They love it. its very strudy and can easily fit a 7/8 year old standing up inside. the colors are also very aesthetically pleasing and will fit in with any decor
