One week review

First I want to say that my openrun pros are so much more comfortable than my ear buds. I have issues having something in my ear or even over them for an extended time. I do wonder if I should have gotten the minis? When you are wearing a hoodie it snags while you are walking or laying down the part behind your head seems to push you ear piece forward. It doesn’t ruin the experience or anything but it does get kind of annoying. Let me wear them for a little longer and I’ll come back and let you know.

Stop reading reviews - Buy these and get to training!!!

A fellow cyclist bragged about these. Our policy is if you're cheap, you're off the team. As a female cyclist, I would be considered bigger, but I am medium overall, with a smaller head (5'7"/140lbs). I thought the hoop around the back of my head would not work out, but they were perfect. Charged up out of the box, wore them for a 160 mi event. It was great to not have anything in my ear, out of the way, and never worried about anything falling out of my ear. The sound was excellent between music and navigation, and very easy to use with volume and on/off/pause. I have been using iPod Pros and have to rotate because of battery life. Basically, just get them, they are awesome. You can chat, have a little tune going for when the going gets tough during workouts, and hear what is going on around you, instead of disconnecting from the world. A++++++++

Almost perfect

I love my Open Run headphones. I run daily and do several races a year and these have been my tried and true run accessory for almost a year now. The sound quality and battery life are better than expected. There is however one area that I wish they’d improve on. The charging port in the headphones is not enclosed or covered so the metal contacts are exposed to water, and sweat. While these are rated at IP55 my headphones will no longer charge after 11 months of almost daily use because the charge port has become rusted and literally disintegrated last night. I typically wipe them down after use to get the salt off but they’ve continued to rust to the point that the charge port is completely broken. If they can fix this one issue they would last a lot longer and boost my confidence in the product.

Good quality

These are the best open ear headphones I have had, but they still suffer from the same things they all do. If you wear glasses, they are uncomfortable and flare your ears out. Also, in loud environment, you cannot take a call because you can't hear the call.

Great Headphones

Great headphones, great battery life, good sound. Wish they worked with Siri and had better functional control to skip a song rather than having to push the multi function button twice. It's hard to time that double button press when you are running all out in a 5k.

Design isn’t functional for women

The sound quality is excellent. They’re very well made. They’re just not functional (for women). They don’t fit. I measured my head, bought minis and they’re still way too big/not snug. You can’t lie down with them on (ie to meditate), put them on for a hike and then put a hat on in cold weather. The design just doesn’t work (for me). They may be great for sitting at a desk but they’re not good for anything active. They’re sitting on my counter waiting to return them.

Connection is sometimes spotty (or

Connection is sometimes spotty (or with very low volume), and I either need to put in a hard-wired set of earphones or use phone / computer speaker. Headset always wants to connect to my phone, even when I want to connect to laptop. A bit of a chore to make that work. Could be a little smaller to fit around my head better. Otherwise, it works as advertised. I can wear them at work / home / gym and hear outside sounds when I need to.

Absolutely love these headphones! They’re easy to carry around and they play music well. I get to listen to music and safely listen to my surroundings while running and rock climbing. 10/10 would recommend! Also the battery lasts around 10 hours, it’s great!

OpenRun Pro

I've had the Trekz Air when the company was still called AfterShokz. Great piece of headphones and lasted me all these years. It still actually works great, but just recently started having some trouble only when making calls where I sound like I'm cutting in and out apparently. If that didn't happen, I'm almost certain I wouldn't have traded them in. I'm only a few weeks in using the OpenRun and can't say much yet, but here are my thoughts so far: Pros: 1) Light and 2) aesthetically sleeker than older model. Mild Annoyances: 1) The flexibility of the headphones causes them to flop around a bit when trying to handle them, a bit annoying when in a hurry. 2) It might be different if I got the mini size, but I feel the conduction piece moves easy so I have to adjust them often versus the Trekz Air sat right where I needed them and stayed in place. 3) Also I'm noticing the sound isn't coming through as clear as the Trekz Air did. As I said, still getting use to these so I'll give it a little more time. On a side note, after I got the OpenRun a few weeks later the new ear pieces were released... so, yeah, that wasn't annoying or anything, lol.

The one that works

This is a very well made product. I don't like putting anything in my ears and this one is just the thing, and with this pro model, sound quality is great and battery life is excellent. This is the only one I use all the time. Great work Shokz team!
