The texture is a swirl of shea butter and a moisturizer that is wrapped in a delicious sent of vanilla. I felt like a royal applying it and continue to feel sooty and selling of baked goods all day. Body wash would never suds up or lather well for me, so I felt like I was just bathing with water. I also like stronger smelling soaps to actually help me SMELL clean. When I tried Old Spice Super Hydration Gentle Man's Body Wash (Fiji with Palm Tree + Coconut Scent), my attitude changed about body wash -- after I take a shower with this body wash, the entire bathroom (and half the house) smells clean! It reminds me of when I visited my aunt's house as a kid and her entire house smelled clean and soapy and fresh! Initially, the body wash looks... weird (a bit like pistachio pudding)... but I had no problem getting this body wash to lather or suds up, and the smell is surprisingly great and clean! With this body wash, I don't feel like my bath is just 'rinsing with water.' While I can't typically use Old Spice deodorant (it sometimes burns my sensitive skin), I have taken several baths with this body wash and haven't noticed any skin reactions. The bottle is large (mine is 20 fluid ounces) and will last long enough where I feel like I'm not having to buy a new bottle every single week.
