I have not noticed an uptick in power or energy consumption. It works well. Within a week a noticed gnats on the trap and no longer seem them flying around my kitchen in this warm weather. I placed it in the kitchen in an area that is not as well lit to try to attract bugs. In a week, I've caught 1 small gnat. It's where I usually place my bananas. So I'm sure it will catch more things when I get another bunch. It feels solid like it will last and the sticky strip is large so it can catch lots of things before needing replaced.

I love that it doesn't make any noise, it doesn't smell, and it hides the unsightly dead bugs. It gives a calming blue glow that seems to attract the bugs. And then you just take out and throw out the sticky part and replace with a new one.

I'm not a fan of plugging it in because I don't really have a place that can hid it and it's kinda big and not decor friendly. It works. I think I would rather shoo flies that get in the house out, but would be good for gnats.

I had it near the fruits and right on the kitchen counter. However it's a great night stand in the kitchen because it's very bright. Easy to put together. If there's more flies in the house it might catch more.
