Better than expected

It is actually a pretty powerful little machine. I have the 18” version which is perfect. I have 2 driveways. I tried it out before leaving a review. We had 6” of snow 3 days ago and it has setup and froze underneath by the concrete. But the unit handled the top layer with no problem. I think if you use the unit right after it snows (probably 6” max) and no one has driven on it the unit should take the snow all the way to the concrete. Plus it helps if you only take a 9” path through the snow, try not to take the entire 18 inches. (I am retired so time is not an issueπŸ˜ƒ.) The head light is nice and it does run the lights the entire time, there is no switch for the lights. The unit is very light because it is mostly plastic except for the handles and blade. The cord retainer is definitely not designed for a 12 gauge extension cord. If you have a 100 foot extension cord make sure it is 12 gauge. I got the retainer to work with using pliers and a lot of effort. I could get the snow to blow out maybe 10 feet. Maybe if the snow was light and fluffy it would do better. But for the price it did a good job. If you are expecting the blower to match that of a gas powered blower you will be disappointed. Now the big question is how long with this electric blower will last? It only has a 2 year warranty so we shall see.

Very helpful with lots of snow!

I don't have a big driveway, so this was a perfect option short of getting a full snow blower. It was very useful and helped move lots of snow. You do have to push through it, and some wheels or a way to roll it would be helpful, but was still much easier and faster than plain shoveling.

Great snow blower light, efficient and works well

I bought this to clear the snow off the outside stairs and patio. The snow blower we have is very heavy and we can't safely lift to to these areas. The Westinghouse snowblower is very light, easy to use and plowed almost 14 inches of snow off the deck and patio with ease. Money well spent in my opinion and we now have a safe way of removing snow from the stairs, deck and patio.

Easy to Assemble

I bought this after our recent snow in the DC area. The instructions were easy to follow to assemble. THE SERIAL NUMBER IS ON THE BOX! I look forward to using it on my sidewalk and driveway when it snows again. I bought this model instead of the 23 in version because the 18 in one has a steel auger instead of a plastic one, and we get more ice than snow.

Works great

Bought end of November in anticipation of snow. Had small amounts of snow this last weekend. Decided to try it out before snow turned into ice. Even though there was not a lot of snow, it cleared the snow off the driveway. Only problem was remembering to turn the Shute so I didn’t have to go back and clear area again.

Perfect size for a senior lady.

I got this on sale after a miserable Michigan winter of shoveling off my deck. It arrived promptly and was very easy to assemble. I have only been able to use it once due to weather conditions (ice later) but found it lightweight and easy to maneuver.

Works great!

I bought this following an 8 inch snowfall. It was very easy to set up and operate. This machine moved the snow nicely. Unfortunately, I did not have it immediately after the snowfall so I had to deal with some icy patches and that required a bit of effort. Two days later, another 3 inches and this time on fresh snow it was smooth sailing. Just like mowing a lawn!

Beginner friendly, great value

Finally broke down & bought a snowblower after getting pounded with snowstorm after snowstorm. My driveway has not been touched all winter and snow is almost up to my knees in spots. I was worried it would be too deep for snowblower to handle especially since snow has compacted down and froze but I was very pleasantly surprised. Took a few passings on each area but the snowblower moved it even breaking up some of the thick sheet of ice that lays underneath all the snow. Unfortunately the wind was blowing some of the snow stream right back onto the driveway. Pros: very beginner friendly - just plug in and press a button to start (I’m using 100ft 12 gauge extension cord due to length of driveway) -moves the snow a lot more efficiently than shoveling -great price point Cons: -throwing distance is ok but doesn’t throw super far - while assembly was relatively easy as someone who has never so much as touched a snow blower before I found the directions slightly daunting and feel an assembly video for reference would have made the process a million times easier

My first snowblower

I just tried out my new snowblower from Westinghouse today unfortunately, I have some thick ice up under the snow so I was waiting on it to melt a little bit to try it out. I began to just use it just on the surface of the snow, but wasn’t able to get down to the concrete but overall, the product is pretty decent which it was just a little bit more powerful but I would recommend it and use it directly after the snow has ended.

From box to ready to work in 15 minutes

I just received the snow blower and expected to have to assemble it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that assembly consists of taking the unit out of the box, unfolding the handle, and attaching the chute adjuster rod. Now that I’ve done one, I could have another ready to go to work in less than 10 minutes. The case of the unit, wheels, and the chute are made of plastic. The handle, chute adjustment rod, and auger blades are made of steel. The auger blades have a thick rubber strip attached to the steel blade with Phillips screws, washers, and lock nuts. I hope the fasteners are stainless steel and that you can get replacement rubber strips when needed. There is a 6-LED light strip attached the front of the case near the base of the chute to help if you find yourself clearing snow in low-light conditions. I haven’t had a chance to use it in snow yet, but that opportunity may come early tomorrow morning. This unit clears an 18 inch wide path in snow up to 10 inches thick. That should do well for the snows we get in my area. If you live where you often get snow significantly deeper than 10 inches, this is not the unit for you.
