Toothbrush cap should come in translucent colors

I have been using a Sonicare toothbrush for 15+ years, ever since Oprah introduced it as "one of her favorite products" to give for Christmas. Everyone in my family has had their own Sonicare toothbrush including kids, grandkids, mother and even my second hubby and mother-in-law. I have given so many of these toothbrushed as Christmas gifts. My only recommendation to the makers of this toothbrush is that the clear cap come in translucent colors. In the first place, it would make it easier for each family member to locate their own toothbrush sitting by the bathroom sink. In the second place, as a senior citizen with failing eyesight, it is often difficult for me to find my clear cap! My solution is to paint my cap with a translucent pink nail polish enamel. It would be nice if the 4 and 6 pack replacement heads came with 4 or 6 different translucent cap colors. The nail enamel companies have so many lovely choices on the market such as mint green, sky blue...I understand that we need to be able to see if the cap needs cleaning inside...but we also need to be able to see the cap so that we can find and use it!

Wears Out Quickly

The head is of good design and does it's job very well. My only concern is that it's only good for about a month. The cost of replacing these heads are excessive for no longer than they last. If they would last at least 3 months I would rate them 5 stars for performance.

Difficult and time consuming to keep clean

Have used Sonicare brushes since first available. I decided that the abrasive non sonic competitor that kept failing due to moisture wasn't for me after one was replaced (with a rebuilt one) during warranty and yet another stopped working. Unfortunately to me it's very annoying to have to remove the sonic head after every use to wash and dry. If not done frequently the handle and the brush head will collect the remnants of the toothpaste particularly at the junction of the head threads and the handle. At least a decent holder to dry the head in and drain the cavity of the beam connected to the magnet would at least make the job less annoying. Something for the magnetic head bottom to clamp to and a container to collect the moisture before the head gets dry?? It almost requires another standard toothbrush to scour the threaded area of head and handle for me when I brush several times a day. An occasional thorough washing of the head drive system in very HOT running water for several minutes is needed. If you do this often after use and give it several hard shakes of the head the clots of dark mildewy goo will emerge from the mechanism. UGH!!! There has to be a better way to seal the seam between the head and the handle so the necessary cleaning of the threaded area can be done less often. How about a silicon washer? The flexible seal where the head meets the threaded end cap needs a redesign to seal it better to keep pasty water from entering the mechanism as it runs down the brush handle. Still the best way to cut dental bills in spite of my annoyance with it!!! :-)

Terrible packaging same as non screw on.

My review is more on packaging. Twice now I have mistakenly bought these screw on brush heads thinking they were the other brush head replacements. It's very hard to find the plaque control heads where I live and seeing the plaque control on the description I grabbed them thinking they were my replacements. My brush is not the screw on so I'm out of close to $80 buying these by mistake. You would think being 2 totally different brush heads they would alter the packaging to avoid this mistake. I'm changing toothbrushes because I'm sick of running around trying to find brush heads and thinking Iv found them to end up with something that will not work. Maybe make it more obvious they are 2 totally different products and not make the packaging identical.

Filthy inside the screw on cap and well the magnet

I unscrewed my e series head to see what looked like mold in threads and cap that screws onto the bottom battery pack motor. The well that the magnet assembly goes into was also black with what looked like mold!!! Can't find e series heads at any retailer. My whole sonicare unit was expensive and I thought it was healthier way to brush my teeth. Now I question what has been going into my mouth instead? Bacteria?

Long lasting great product.

These heads last the better part of a year! My only complaint is with the design of the base. It allows too much moisture to collect under the screw down cap and into the top of the powered handle. This requires frequent cleaning to prevent a mildew type growth. I would bet this has been improved in more current designs. Our 2 brushes are going strong after 4 years.

Too many places for mold to grow.

In terms of dental hygiene, this product is excellent. However, the replacement heads are expensive and do not last any where near the three months that they claim. I've also had a lot of issues with mold growing inside the head, in places that are impossible to keep clean. On the whole, I'll go with a different design next time I replace the brush.

Hi, Thanks for your review regarding the Sonic toothbrush heads. At first glance it may not be obvious, but brush heads lose stiffness and gradually wear down over months of normal use. Our blue reminder bristles fade to white and help you recognize when it's time for a replacement. For optimal results, we suggest to replace your brush head every three months. If your brush heads are not providing you with at least 3 months of brushing time, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

the product is practical

In my family we are 3 people who use them and very quickly you have to replace the brush heads, because the bristles of the brush do not have much strength.
