Works good but wasteful

We have been using the e-Series toothbrush for years now and they work great. However, I always feel bad about replacing the heads because they last 3 months and then the large plastic, metal, and nylon head has to be thrown away. What's worse, the plastic blister pack is not even made of recyclable plastic. I'm sure you're not the only company that doesn't take back brush heads, but why not? I am sure some parts could be cleaned, reused, or recycled. I would be so proud of a company that did this and would spread the word to others.

There is no way to be sure the right model number

The assignment of model numbers for Sonicare brushes is not at all understandable or transparent. For example there is no consistancy - the model number may change without he product changing, just the number in a package or the age of the product batch. There is a misunderstanding as to what has to change for the model numnber to change.

Hiya, Joel. Thanks for leaving your review behind here. We appreciate your feedback on the numbering of our Sonicare brush heads and do regret to hear that it is confusing for you. The Sonicare brush heads indeed have a different product number depending on how many are in a pack. The difference in the model itself can be determined by the product name of the brush head. Your feedback is duly noted though and we have forwarded it to the concerning team. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

Works wonderfully with the E compact brush head

I wish you would bring the E series COMPACT screw-on toothbrush head back! I have a small moth & that was the only toothbrush head that fit my mouth without difficulty. I invested money to get the Sonacare toothbrush & now you have removed the only brush that actually fits my mouth. I am very disappointed in your decision! I really would like for you to sell it again, PLEASE!

Great product - Fills landfills unnecessarily though

This is a great product. Great enough to where I wanted to write a review! Since the body of the toothbrush is very durable and stands up to daily use like it is nothing, I went to get a replacement head yesterday. As soon as I saw them in the store I realized what a stupid idea it was to get this. Two replacement heads cost almost as much as the original product! What a waste. The idea behind durable goods is to save the environmental impact. As much as I love this product, I will not use it anymore for this exact reason.

Like brushing your teeth with a BMW

I love it! These brush heads are so soft and smooth, it feels like you are brushing your teeth with a feather. Coupled with the Sonicare toothbrush, the feather becomes a tiny hurricane that cleans your teeth to a smooth shine. I like the two-pack because my wife and I both have the toothbrush and we replace our brush heads at the same time. I would never buy them from this online store though since the pricing is 20-30% higher than physical stores.

quality of replacement heads is terrible!

I've used Sonicare for 30 years ... purchased 3 units over that time. The product cleans teeth very well and is good for gums and I've had great 6 month check ups. HOWEVER, over the last few years I've noticed that the replacement heads show wear very quickly -- after one month they are very worn. These replacement heads are no longer manufactured with the same quality that they used to be!!! The replacement heads are very expensive to change on a monthly basis!!! Either improve the quality or lower the price on the replacement heads!!!

Brush Life is Too Short

I have been a Sonicare user for 8 years. I used to love this product because it cleaned my teeth really well and the brush heads lasted a long time. I get my teeth professionally cleaned every 6 months, and I used to replace the brush head every time I got my teeth cleaned. During those times, when I would throw the old brush head away, I would notice that the brush was still in pretty good condition, even after 6 months of use. However, in the last year, I'm finding that my Phillips replacement heads are starting to show significant wear in as little as 2-3 weeks. For instance, I have been using my current replacement head for 2 1/2 weeks now. Over 20 bristles on the outside edge are now splayed outward, and I've had bristles come out of the brush and get left in my mouth twice in the last week. The brush head is now unattractive because of the splaying bristles and unpleasant to use because of the bristles falling out, so I will replace the brush head tomorrow. The disappointing thing is that I've found that I used to be able to replace these brush heads every six months when I got a professional cleaning and the heads were still in decent shape, but now I'm replacing them every 3 weeks because they're starting to look worn and leaving bristles in my mouth. Replacing brush heads is now costing me 8 times as much as it used to, and I simply cannot afford it any more at the prices Philips charges. I wish that the replacements performed for me like they used too, but I'm going to have to start using something different. I feel bad now that I've recommended this product to lots of friends and family members over the years and it's no longer working as good as it used to. I hope they're not having the same issues. I'll ask my dentist what he thinks I should use now when I get my teeth cleaned next month. After all, he's the person who recommended Sonicare to me 8 years ago.

Easy new toothbrush

I've had my Sonicare toothbrush for about 2 years now and I really like it! My teeth feel clean and my dentist always compliments me on my brushing habits when I go in for cleanings. Sonicare recommends changing the toothbrush heads every 3 months. That is just about right. When I change to a new head, I can feel the difference. As much as I like this product, I have 2 areas of concern. One is that the replacement brush heads are costly. Probably worth the cost, but it hurts when I have to buy new ones. The second area of concern is keeping the inside of the brush head clean. I've found that taking the brush head off and rinsing both the base and the brush head before putting it back on the charger helps alot. Recently, since my last brush head change, I've been separating the two parts and rinsing them, then putting the base on the charger and the brush head in the little tray that came with the toothbrush. This seems to let everything dry out and I'm not seeing the build-up of toothpaste and saliva that I've seen before. Overall, I love my Sonicare and I try to follow all the instructions that came with it. Advice on keeping it clean would be a benefit.

wasteful

This product works well but what a wasteful design! Why can't you make a toothbrush where just the top head pops off so only a small part needs to be replaced? You should accept these back for recycling, and make the effort to make a less wasteful product.

Water Sepage

I have had my Sonicare Elite for about 1 year now. What I find disgusting is that the water seeps into the cartridge and it is nasty! Why doesn't Sonicare make a unit that is seepage free? Have some gaskets or something to keep the water from leeking in. Really poor design!
