Good
Charged up wonderful with the extra battery hooked up. Cannot wait to try it out on my refrigerator first.
WOW - Awesome - 5* really - great for work at home
5.0 out of 5 stars This thing is a fantastic. I picked it up x 2 and also 2 x 400W solar panels. I documented the unboxing for this review, really well boxed and simple instructions, nothing excessive. Sturdy for keeping. The panel carry bags are sturdy, they need to be for the not light panels. I would not go dragging them on the ground [my OCD], and i used a thin drop cloth for most of my setting up and placing of the panels. Using rubber gloves like ATLAS is a must for ease of set-up. Probably a 2 person job, otherwise you need to think ahead, so the panels don't tip or overflex. At the price point i would have expected to have had a bag for the Delta Max unit included. My needs are to power my at home computer kit, for 2 work at home adults and a child with 2 monitors!! Plus a tech heavy house. We are in NorCal, but due to the way our roof is chopped up, we can only get a small 4.2kW solar system plus 2 Tesla PowerWalls, this hits to areas; supplements that system with low stress, and gives us a portable unit for outside entertainment needs [lights, sound, temporary cooking / ice]. I do however have a balcony [suntrap] with a large surface to accommodate the 400W panels, (will be placed on a trellis roof we are building on-top of the balcony). It gets peak sun all year around in the 10:00 to 14:00 sun-power band. These things kick it out, i monitored it from the morning 6am [slightly grey, sun not above the horizon and local shading], at about 22W input, which steadily increased to now [11:37 pacific] to 500W, the battery is fully charged. Open book, i had charged it a little. When it arrived its at 30%. So i hooked up the solar system during the unpack, but it was cloudy so i ended up just plugging it in to the AC for a 1.5 hour to full charge. I hooked it up to laptop, large draw monitor and a bunch of tech equipment. So, now 11:40 it is simply pulling 140W from the solar, for my 120W consumption. But for the next 3 hours i can get 800W draw, before i will fade and then drop over to battery draw. That said the panels became shaded after 2pm.....i used the power for the rest of the day [laptop, large monitor, charged a phone and a JBP speaker], drawing about 120W, total. The solar panels where regulated producing about 140W. Overnight, my hub and a bunch of internet gear had been drawing 20-30W, and left me with 11 hours as i turn my computer and monitor etc on [drawing 80W to 110W]. It is 08:00 and i am getting 22W from the solar, and will be about another 2 hours before the solar starts to kick in, at 09:30 i am getting 60W input and climbing, and i will continue to write about how long it is before i hit 100%....10:58 at 377W solar input, and a fill time of 3hr53 minutes or less..... 401W at 11:05 and charge time of 3hr25min or less. So it got up to 81% before the shadow came over the panels. Not ideal, but it is 20:00 now, and it should last overnight. 06:55, 60% charge...light use this morning [just the laptop, no big monitor], and at about 08:26 the panels are picking up 60W and meeting my demands. I learnt yesterday that laying them flat is the best option with the real estate i have. All in all, really like it. What a great bit of kit.
Most used EcoFlow Product I have!
I have the full range of ecoflow products from the River Mini & Pro as well as the Delta Pro & Max. The Max is by far the most used for my situation due to the 2K capacity and mainly the weight. Allows me to pick it up without a second thought on meeting my power needs for a camping trip. Just love it!
Almost perfect
I have already used several power stations, I started with GoalZero Yeti 400 products then 400lithium, 500X, 1500X. Then the first version of the Ecoflow Delta came out, which replaced everything due to the fast charging and the integrated charger. The original Delta is not without its flaws but it made me ditch the whole GoalZero system, sorry ... I believe that in the current version of Delta MAX, Ecoflow has solved virtually all the flaws and ills of the original Delta. Ecoflow Delta MAX surpasses competitors' products in practically all respects. Benefits: - large battery capacity at a reasonable weight and price - powerful inverter (you can power most devices) - a refined bypass from the solar charger (when there is a lot of sun, you power the inverter and charge the battery, in competition products you only charge the battery, which is then discharged by the inverter to 90-95% and recharged, destroying the cells) - management of many parameters through the application, e.g. switching outputs, charging speed from the AC network, and many others. - an application that works "online" through Ecoflow servers and offline when you are far from civilization - ECOSYSTEM, the possibility of extension with further compatible accessories, battery packs, smart generator etc. - lots of security Disadvantages: - noise from fans, I do not understand why the device uses such a primitive way of managing the on / off operation of the fans? After all, the speed of the fans can be modulated depending on the temperature of the inverter, solar charger etc. If it could be improved with the firmware, the device would be practically perfect. - due to the conversion from 42V to 12V there are quite large losses in the DC circuit (compared to the competition)
Great Unit
This is a great unit. I have been able to use all the features without any issue and the fact I am able to charge it in yes 90min from almost zero charge makes this thing a Godsend should there be any power issues. I was able to run a microwave, two T.V., several lights and my computer along with several fans with several hours of charge being maintained.
Great Products
I have three solar power stations; a River Pro, a Delta 1300, and a Delta Max 2000, and six EF160 Watt solar panels. I use them to supply loads in different parts of the house in the event of a power outage. Charging on the AC line is very fast, as described in EcoFlow’s manuals. On the Delta Max the rate of charge is selectable between FAST and SLOW with a switch on the power station, and the slow rate is adjustable from the mobile phone App. On the RiverPro you can set slow charging with the App. Using SLOW charging will be easier on the batteries, but FAST charging is there when you need it.* Charging will proceed at pace until it ramps down as the batteries approach a full charge, whether using AC or solar input. Don’t be alarmed as you see the input watts throttling back. Think of a jet plane coming in for a landing. You wouldn’t want to land at 600 MPH. Neither do the batteries. In use, there are a few things you can do to maximize runtime. Keep the power station cool. As the internal temperature rises, the fans will come on, running faster as the temp increases. The fans use power that would ordinarily be available for your load, so minimizing the need for them is to your advantage. And, obviously, keep the power station in a dry location. Don’t use the inverter if you don’t need to. If you can power your phone, laptop, or tablet with their USB cables, do so. The same is true if you have a set of low-voltage LED lights on a USB cable. You won’t need to switch on the AC outlets which use power to run the inverter. And it’s probably a minor point, but I’ll mention it anyway. Using the Wi-Fi connection is handy but it also draws a little bit of power which would otherwise be available for your load.* And finally, solar panels may not deliver the amount of power you expect, even if they are positioned perpendicular to the sun and free of shade. The efficiency of solar panels is related to their temperature. As the temperature goes up, the panel’s output power goes down. What you get from a solar panel in winter should be de-rated in summer. * Note: Slow charging and Wi-Fi are not available on my Delta 1300.
Quality product!
I purchased the Delta Max 2000, and 2 of the 220w bifacial solar panels for emergency backup power when the electricity goes out. It will keep the refrigerator and deep freezer running so food doesn’t spoil. I charged it with with the home a/c outlet and have not used the solar panels yet. I plugged in the refrigerator and deep freezer and it has plenty of power to keep them running until it can be recharged with the solar panels. I believe this will be perfect though I haven’t tested the solar panels.
Generating peace of mind
I purchased the Delta Max, extra battery and a couple of solar panels for blackout situations. This is an increasing occurrence where I live and I want to be prepared. Having my generator and panels gives me much more peace of mind should the situation get dark, literally and figuratively.
Quality Product
I do a lot of motorhome travelling and often stay off grid, so was looking into solutions to enable me to stay off grid for longer periods. I researched the market before purchase and the Echoflow Delta Max was the product that stood out. I'm really pleased with its versatility, performance and overall quality of the product. It does exactly what it says on the tin and gives me the flexibility I was looking for.
