[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the herbal essence‘s Rosehip smooth shampoo and conditioner on my 2B/2C thick hair last night immediately got hit with a flashbacks from those iconic late 90s shower commercials… You know exactly the ones I mean. First impression, the scent is classic herbal essence is in the best way. It's a soft floral rose that isn't overly powdery or artificial, but still lingers just enough to make your hair feel fresh without being overwhelming. The conditioner was impressive. The texture hit that sweet spot, not too thick, not too runny, and it distributed evenly through my hair without needing a ton of product. As as I was rinsing, I could already feel how much smoother my hair was. Detangling right out of the shower is noticeably easier, which always is a big indicator for me that the conditioner is actually doing something. I do overnight heatless curls, and when I took them out this morning, I immediately noticed my hair looks smoother and more polished than usual. There was a visible reduction in frizz, especially through the mid-length and ends, and my curls held their shape without looking dry or fluffy. My hair also felt really soft and lightweight, not weighed down or coated, which can sometimes happen with “smoothing” products. It actually struck a really nice balance between hydration and movement.
