We're sorry that you're finding a scent left behind on your dishes. Our products go through many quality checks, to ensure that each one meets our high standards. All our ingredients, including our perfumes, are thoroughly tested to ensure that they are safe to use. However, a scent being left behind is not typical, and we have some tips that may help. If your dishwasher has a filter, remove the filter and clean it according to the manufacturer's instructions. It's possible dishwasher cleaner broke up lingering food residue which is stuck in the filter. Also, be sure to check that sprayer arms are not clogged to ensure proper rinsing. Some materials, such as cast iron and plastic, can absorb odors. If certain items always pick up an odor, they could be old or worn to the point of being porous. This can cause the scent of the detergent to be more easily absorbed into the surface, and these items should be washed by hand. For all other items which are dishwasher safe, a scent should not remain on the item if they are rinsed properly, whether by hand or in the dishwasher. It may help to know that our Cascade Platinum is more strongly scented, and for those who prefer something with a lighter fragrance, we recommend our Cascade Free & Clear. Our products undergo many quality checks to ensure they get to you with the best results, so we don&#39;t expect these things to happen. We want to provide some tips so you can continue getting the best results with our Cascade products. Some of these you&#39;ve maybe already tried, but we want to share just in case:<br /><br />• Be sure your water is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit.<br />• We recommend running your kitchen tap before starting your dishwasher so the water goes in hot.<br />• Run your dishwasher when no other water supplies are running, like the washing machine or the shower. This way, you&#39;ll have full water fill and pressure.<br />• When loading the machine, be sure all items will get the full spray and that your spray arms aren&#39;t blocked.<br />• Store Cascade in a cool, dry place.
