gEttinger smarter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even if I forget to water it one or two days, I know it will be fine thanks to the water smart technology.

High rate of success

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always had good results using Scotts Sun and Shade mix. I've tried other brands, but they don't seem to offer the same consistency that I've found in this

Great germination

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Planted in sunny and shady areas. I was afraid that there was too much shade but that was not a problem. Took a couple of weeks but filling in nicely.

seed did not grow in all areas

The seed was easy to use but the results were inconsistent. Some areas the seed did not grow even though I used Scotts premium topsoil before spreading the seed.

I got great results using this. Filled in a bare area I had formally as a garden. No weeds.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I did prep the area first and had wonderful results. I do believe I did ours a little heavy application than on package.

Germinates fast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for filling in bare areas especially if used with Scotts soil with starter fertilizer in it. Grows fast and comes in thick if you water every day.

You can't go wrong using Scott's lawn products!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You can always expect outstanding results when seeding lawn with Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix. Product has high germination rate, which produces thick, dense grass.

Very poor results

Purchased a bag of this product to fill in winter kill spots on my yard. Spread the seed and covered it with top soil, kept it watered and in over a month,,nary a blade. Expensive seed but not worth the price.

reply from Consumer Services

We are sorry that you have had problems while using Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix. Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees and no warmer than 75 degrees for your seed to germinate. If you sow your seed when the soil temperature is too hot or too cold, the seed will wait until ideal conditions are present. As long as you do not experience a sudden change in temperature after germination begins, you could still experience the great results you expected from our seed. One major "enemy" of a newly seeded lawn is herbicide. Make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used in the area, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. You may visit our contact page by clicking on the following link http://tinyurl.com/7ag7a3n
