perfect for our yard

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our yard has several mature trees, as well as some sunny spots---similar, I would think, to many people with older homes-we always buy this mix and it works perfectly on our whole yard.

The product was easy to use.

Doesn't work

Just OK Results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little disappointed. I have full sun in my front yard but mixed sun and shade in my back yard. Got pretty good growth in the front but only limited results in the shady areas in the back.

grass never grew!

Always used Scotts grass seed products and never had an issue. tried this mix and it was horrible. I still have blue grass seeds all over lawn and maybe 1/4 of grass grew from it. did directions exactly as directed.

Worked beautifully!

I spread this over a large area a month ago that was just dirt and weeds. Today I had to mow the lawn!!! Thick and beautiful! Friends and neighbors are shocked that it all came from a bag of seeds.

Unfortunately I found this product to be worthless.

I've used Scotts products for years and this is the first time I was disappointed. I went through the same time consuming prep and then seeded then watered and waited.....HEAVY on the waiting and nearly nothing grew.

It is certainly frustrating to go to the work of reseeding an area, only to have the results less than satisfactory. Water is an important factor in successful seeding. The newly seeded areas must be kept constantly moist for weeks on end and seeds must come into direct contact with the soil in order to germinate. Two "enemies" of newly seeded lawns are herbicides and lawn diseases. While you have very little control over the outbreak of a lawn disease, do make sure that no weed control or weed prevention chemical has been used in the area, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination.
