Didn't grow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prepped soil as recommended and put down seed. It's possible that we didn't water it enough but the grass never grew. It was in a high sun area.

This grass is great quility and grows quickly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this in a couple bare spots on my lawn and it only seemed like days before it started growing. It grew in very thick and green. Very pleased with the performance of this product!

No Response

I have used this product on three different occasions and have yet to have a response. I used with fast start fertilizer. I work from home so keeping it wet was not a problem.

Seeds must come into direct contact with the soil in order to germinate. Our Research Department has told us that if seed is laid on top of old grass, you will have about a 2% germination rate. If you are seeding over an old lawn, we recommend that you rent a slit seeder. If this is not possible, vigorously rake the existing turf, or add a shallow layer of topsoil to the yard prior to seeding. Seed also needs exposure to sunlight. A heavy cover of straw, soil, or other material will cause the seeds to rot, or severely limit germination. Cover seeds with no more than 1/4 of an inch (.63 centimeter) of topsoil or lawn soil. Two "enemies" of newly seeded lawns are herbicides and lawn diseases. While you have very little control over the outbreak of a lawn disease, do make sure that no weed control or weed prevention chemical has been used in the area, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass. We want you to be confident in our products, this is why we offer a product guarantee. ONly Grass seed I'll use

I've used Scotts Turf Builder Grass seed many times. It works great and I have hardly any weeds that come up. I work during the day so I can only water the seed in the evenings and it's no problem the seed usually remains moist from day to day.

Grass Seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a small area that was bare. I ruff up the area and put in the grass seed and put a little peat moss on top and watered. The seed came up in about 7 days.

Produces nice grass blades

This grass mixture comes up nicely. Nice blades. I over seed my lawn annually and always use this mixture. Does a nice job every year thickening the lawn.

Works great in shade and sun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This grass seed worked well in both full sun and shaded areas of my lawn. Used a Scott's hand spreader for effective seed distribution.
