I've also heard my lawn is the best in my town too. Thank you Scotts!!

I had several spots of dead grass from our brutal Boston winter that had been plowed by the snow plow. I carefully, painstakingly, and lovingly prepared the areas that needed seeding - I removed much of the old grass, using a hand tool (claw). I then covered the areas with new loam. I sprinkled on the seed, then in many areas added even more loam. I watered by hand with a hose on "shower" three times the first day, and then twice a day thereafter. 5 days - no new grass 10 days - no new grass I gave up hand watering at that point (the bag says 5 to 10 days). Its been a month, and we never got ANY new grass. NOT ONE SINGLE BLADE OF GRASS. I used 3 bags of this stuff, all bought from different stores for convenience, because I didn't know until I was doing it how much I would need. NONE of the areas grew ANY new grass. I should add that the weather was great during this period - sunny days between 65 to 75, and nights down to about 50. Total and complete waste of money, time, and effort on my part.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product around a new outdoor fire pit I put in my back yard. It only took a couple of days of watering to get started and then it took off. After a couple of weeks the grooves in between the rocks were filled with nice thick grass.

I raked the area and applied the Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix. Within a week I noticed the grass was starting to grow. I look forward to a great looking lawn for the Spring and Summer. A bonus is the seed doesn't have to be watered every day.

My wife purchased this seed for repairing areas of our lawn that are shade and sun. I prepared the area and followed the directions. I have made sure to faithfully water and wanted to get as much benefit from the spring rain. After 3 weeks of effort my lawn looks the same as when I first laid the seed. I still have bare dirt and only thing growing is weeds. Not what I was expecting for the amount paid.

I thought it was bull-pucky when they call it shade mix, but my grass in the shade really thrives and I've done nothing different to it except use this seed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3 years ago weeds riddled my yard and it was time to start over. I've tried several other product but Scott's sun and shade seeds provided results. After 2 years of subpar lawns I switched to Scott's and used sun and shade seed. The result is a full, thick, healthy green lawn. Combined with seasonal applications of halts products at Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day (acronym EMIL) I have the lawn I've desired. My grandson say it looks like Great American Ballpark. I think it look like the home I've always wanted. Thanks for a great line of products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For example if you have an area in your lawn that gets sunny in the morning, and gets shade it the afternoon this is for you. When it comes to over seeding my secret trick is to plant in the late spring. This way it will grown, and the roots will thicken through out the summer into fall. If you are seeding an entire area, my trick is to rototill the area, rake in Scotts top soil, use your Scotts broadcast spreader to put down the starter fertilizer, and then put down the seed with a Scotts broadcast spreader. Water daily and enjoy. If you need to plant seed in the heat NEVER use straw. Bag your lawn when you mow at 3 inches and use the clippings to spread over the newly seeded area.

I NEVER HAD AS MUCH FAST RESULTS WITH ANY OF THE PREVIOUS BRANDS IVE TRIED, I'M ANGRY WITH MYSELF FOR NOT USING THIS PRODUCT EIGHT TEARS AGO. BUT I HAVE EARNED MY BRAGGING RIGHTS TO BE SINGLED OUT AS HAVING THE BEST LAWN IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The grass seed seems to have a special coating on it however I was not able to tell if the special coating did anything remarkable I was not sure if the cost was appropriate given the fact that grass seed that cost a third grew in just as much as this one.
