The truck definitely needs different tires as a work truck. My husband had to tie Paracord around the back wheels for it to have enough traction to drive over the packed snow on our sidewalks, does fine on dry pavement. I'm curious to see how it will do in the grass this summer. My kids are absolutely thrilled with it but I agree with the other reviews in terms of this will not hold an average sized 7yr old. A 5-6yr old is pushing it and you can barely squeeze another child next to them but not very comfortably (unless they're very petite). For being a Tonka truck the wheels and size are disappointing but it's a cute design.
