The sharpener system is so smart and works great! This whole system has just surpassed all my expectations and I am very pleased with it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a sucker for a high quality, super sharp knife and these have got to be the best I've ever used. I cook dinner from scratch at least 5-6 times per week and a good knife is a cook's best friend so I'm back to loving being in the kitchen. This set comes with Chef, Bread, Boning, Utility, Santoku and Paring knives along with 6 steak knives, shears plus a knife sharpener that is built right into the holder. These knives cut through meat like its butter and definitely made carving the Thanksgiving turkey a joy and not a chore this year. I think I'm most excited to check out the boning knife - we eat a lot of poulty and I would love to be able to make my own boneless cuts and save some money. Sharpening the knives is super easy, just pull the lever the full length to the top to position the sharpening wheel then return the the bottom. I have used various types of sharpeners in the past with very poor results - this sharpener is a literally a no-brainer, anyone can use it successfully. I am thrilled with this set and highly recommend .

Let me just say that there is no question as to how sharp these are. I found that out directly a few weeks ago. I was deep into cleaning up a prime rib when I slipped, like usual. I don't have great grip and so this really isn't an uncommon scenario. What made it unusual this time was that I was using these death blades. Why I bet you could slice through a gator with these things. I'll spare you the photos, but suffice to say, the knife managed to make its way about halfway through my thumb. Still can't feel that whole section! Why did I only give 4 stars? I felt the blade a bit too much as it swiftly passed through my thumb meat.

They are full tang and have a good weight to them. They are also impressively sharp right out of the box. The knife sharpener works well enough, retaining a good edge on the blades. The blades hold their edge well and I'm just a typical home cook, so I don't have to sharpen the knives often. I'm more impressed with the quality of the knives than anything.

The knifes are very sharp and when used over time, it has a built in knife sharpener! The whole set looks so pristine and sleek looking. These feel SO much better in the hand and come incredibly sharp. It comes with instructions for a sharpening routine (every 2-4 weeks) and is actually very easy to sharpen. These knives are sharp right out of the box. The sharpest knives I have ever owne and I'm all about a good knife. With that being said it only gets better from here. The stand it comes in is very nice, it looks good sitting on your counter. All of the knives are wonderful, they fit your hand perfectly which makes it easy to slice thru your food. They are made of German stainless steel which is the best. The stand has its on built in sharpener with a sharpening stone. It's easy to use, plus you can use it for the knives you already have. I did just to see if it actually works. It made my old knife the sharpest it's ever been. When you read on the box they do have a 10 year never dull guarantee with the right maintenance. That's what sold me on this product. I'm one to read reviews before purchasing a product and I hope mine has helped someone decide. Let me just say you will not be disappointed.
