I was a regular user of Dove 48 hour Extra Fresh antiperspirant for many years, and when they recently changed to the 72-hour citrus scent formula, I was incredibly disappointed. It smells like old lemons and celery, and the odor is much stronger than the old formula. I don’t know what caused this change. I bought all of the 48-hour formula that I could find since I figure they’d be soon replaced by the new formula.

I have been using for several years now and have no issue of it ruining my shirts, I wear undershirts under my dress shirts. Also since I take a shower daily, I have never had an issue with this product not being able to keep the smell away. It is gentle and makes it so I don't break out like other deodorants have done to me.

I prefer another brand to this one but I feel like this is a very close second to the one I use mostly. This has the non sticky filmy aspect that I like but fragrances not so good and I feel like I get more out of the other brand I use more frequently.

My husband keeps this on hand just in case there is a time he runs out of his spray and can't get it at that exact moment. It works just as well as the spray deodorant does at keeping you fresh. Plus it's just as quick and easy to use like the spray deodorant is. We both just prefer spray deodorant over solid deodorant.

My husband has been using this brand since forever and it keeps him smelling fresh all day! It has a nice aroma. Nothing like the overbearing scent of Axe deodorant which gives me an instant headache. I hope this does not get discontinued as he says its the best smelling deorant that he has ever used. #doveformen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To baseline this review - My usual underarm stink prevention is unscented or whatever-baby-powder-smell-is-being-called-these-days anti-perspirant. I'm not looking to flaunt any particular smell, but rather just want to make sure I'm not blowing stank from my pits. After 1 week of use, the Dove Men +Care Extra Fresh has performed admirably. It goes on smooth, and I've had no irritation at all. As for the smell, it IS a departure from unscented or baby powder, but it is not too overpowering. I sometimes can still tell I've moved on to something more 'adventurous' for the first 10-15 mins, but after that, unless there's a heavy stress/heavy activity period, I feel the same as always. The most 'abuse' the anti-perspirant had to keep up with was about 1.5 hours of adult dad-age floor hockey. I woke up the next day very pleased to not smell like a gym sock. Great stuff. I only docked 1 star, down to 4, again because I'm still getting used to the scent. If this same product came in a 'powder fresh' variety, I'd be very very tempted to switch from my usual brand.

My husband uses this deodorant often. It does its job well and there is no sweat smell. Convenient packaging to use. Does not leave white marks on dark clothes. But I noticed a big disadvantage: after using it, there are greasy stains on T-shirts under the arms that are difficult to wash off. For this reason, we decided to replace it with another deodorant.

I bought a two pack seeing the extra fresh antiperspirant that I’ve used for 5-10 years thinking it was the same thing I’ve been using!! But no, it was this new formula crap that smells like citrus pine sol pina colada. It’s horrible. I’m throwing both away, as I can’t stand the smell. Horrible choice Dove. Bring back the old formula

Dear Dove, I love your products for men. I use everything from your shampoo to your deodorant, but I must say that I have been disappointed with your deodorant. It smells great, but does not cover up my natural male smells. I work a desk job (doesnt require much sweating) and I've found that your product is not as effective as your competitors. Also, as most men do, I put on deodorant after I shower, and the cap is very difficult to remove with moist hands. You might suggest adding grooves somewhere on the cap, or maybe even indentations to get a better grip. I hope you consider my comments. -Loyal Customer

This deodorant smells very clean and fresh! As well, it’s really helped me not sweat as much during this summer heat. It lasts a long time and does what it’s supposed to. It doesn’t break apart or get chalky either. Very happy with my purchase and will buy again in the future!
