By far the absolute worst customer service experience that I've ever had. I ordered a Lux Estate PT Firm, based upon other reviews and the Stearns & Foster telephone sales reps recommendation. Everyone was saying that "even though it's designated "Firm-It's more like a medium". Well that couldn't be further from the truth. It is as hard as a rock. I've been trying to initiate a return/exchange for almost a month, and have gotten nothing but grief. The returns dept tells you one thing, the sales dept tells you another. I've after dozens of calls, and at least 12 hrs total spent communicating with reps from both departments. I still have not gotten any resolution. Meanwhile, my back is broken from sleeping on this slab of rock they call a bed. I couldn't be more miserable. NEVER AGAIN! Next step will be to call Wells Fargo and dispute the transaction.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Lux Estate mattress is the most comfortable mattress. It supports and cradles my body giving my partner and I a restful night's sleep. The quality of materials used is first rate, even better than my previous mattress which was also a S & F.

We've been afraid to buy a new bed and not be satisfied with it so we've put it off all these years, but after sleeping on one of your beds, we decided to go ahead and order one. It's wonderful. I feel so supported in any position.

We tested this bed out in a retail store and my wife said that this was the one. I love how S&F doesn't make the item until you order it, and it hasn't been sitting in some warehouse for a year. My wife thinks it's a little more firm than the one we tried at the store, but she has zero back pain, sleeps completely through the night, and loves this mattress. Me, I could sleep on a rock & be just fine, but even I have to admit, this thing feels pretty stinkin awesome. It's definitely better than the foam one and holds up nicely with activity like folding it up for watching TV. Yeah, it was expensive, but I now have a very happy wife so it's a bargain.

But nope, it's been perfectly comfortable from day one (and my back is grateful)! I'd fallen in love with a friend's old old Stearns and Foster mattress (did I mention I have back pain?), so I decided to buy my own, and what a difference it's made. I'd had a 15 year old Sleep Number before, which had broken down and was extremely painful to sleep on. The Stearns and Foster I fell in love with was at least that old and wasn't broken down, thus my decision to purchase one, and look forward to many years of use. From the smooth online ordering to the delivery timing and customer service, I couldn't be happier, so I'd definitely recommend investing in this mattress (for reference, I have preferred a soft mattress before this).

We bought a new Stearns and Foster mattress because ours was over 10 years old. Just finishing knee surgery I really wasn't able to sleep in the bed for about 4 weeks. Sleeping in it now but we find it comfortable but wonder if we should have gotten the softer mattress.

I'm extremely happy with this mattress. After a long day, I feel like I'm melting into the bed. It stays fairly cool, but we had to try different mattress covers that stayed cool as well. The medium firmness was perfect for us as it provides great support for my back, but doesn't provide pressure points. Before this mattress, I would wake up with pain in my shoulder. I haven't had shoulder pain in the morning with this mattress.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the finish quality is not what we expected. We have been had S&F mattresses for many, many years; this one is our third. While the comfort is as expected, numerous clearly visible threads were left hanging during the manufacturing process. While this does not affect comfort, it does make us question whether there was less attention to detail for those parts of the mattress not visible. It also affects our image of S&F and gives the impression this mattress is not worthy of the phrase "Lux Estate." My advice to S&F would be, details matter.

In fact, we were so pleased that when it came time for our new mattress we didn't even consider other brands. Our new S&F Lux Estate firm pillow top king is everything we expected. We both sleep comfortably and wake up rested.
