Super Convenient

I've been a Garmin user for years. (My first runners watch was the Forerunner 301!) As Garmin has matured, and created a solid app for seeing and tracking your information, it's amazing to be able to simply step on the scale, and ALL that data is almost instantly transferred to Garmin Connect. I don't have to do ANYTHING! Love this thing!

Slow to wake

I bought this to replace a competitor smart scale so I could have all my info in the connect app. I like this scale, but my only gripe is it just doesn’t turn on when you stand on it, unlike the competitors scale. With the garmin, you need to “tap” the surface, which basically means banging your foot on it until it wakes up. It’s ridiculous. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have it just wake up when you stand on it.

useless if you do not have a Garmin account

I bought this to put in one of our bathrooms. The other has a WIthings scale. They differ a bit in the weight (Garmin reports about 2% lighter and a lot less fat %). I am not sure which is correct. The big disappointment with the Garmin S2 is that you must have a garmin connect account to get anything but weight and weather from the scale. No body mass data, no water, no fat, nothing but the weight. No history either - but that makes sense if it does not know who you are. Other scales give all the data and store an Unknown user. The information for that user can be saved with an existing user or discarded. I would not recommend this to anyone because it requires accounts for users.

Not as reliable as the first Index Scale

This scale does not come on as easily, it often drops the body composition measurements so I only get weight. It also does not seem as accurate. I have been bodybuilding for the past two years and although I see visible changes, the body fat % either stays the same or increases.

Pretty OK lil' scale

CON: Had issues linking with my Garmin Connect. Tried to add another user and everything got messed up. S2 could not tell the difference between me vs. my husband (100 lbs. difference between us!) Ended up having to re-download everything and start from scratch. Frustrating. PRO: Works great WITH ONLY ONE USER Like how it links directly to my Garmin Connect WITH ONLY ONE USER Slick design and easy to read display

A very good product

Assuming you’re buying this scale for more than just weight checking and you’re somewhat active, the pairing of your Garmin watch with the scale leads to much more accurate measurements. Considering you can add Dexa fat percentage for scale calibration makes it a very good choice. I personally am very happy with the scale options and how it works.

Great potential

All and all happy with this purchase and the ease of syncing with Garmin connect. I feel that some of the features are not explained well via the app or the online instruction manual. I found myself googling some of these features, still not sure how it could be used from a health standpoint.

Smart Scale Positively Reinforces Progress

Purchased the Smart Scale at the recommendation of a Friend who had one and am very happy with it. The extra detailed information on body fat compostition and atuomatic upload of the data which crosses into MyFitnessPal app is helpful. I wish I had purchased earlier.

Garmin all the way!

I cycle a lot, I've had a Garmin edge since 2011. All the heart data and trip metrics are all now in one Garmin app on my phone. 2 months ago I went in, for of all things, open heart surgery, an aortic valve replacement. The data this scale outputs allows me stick my goals weight management is important, as is the percentage of water within that number, BMI and muscle mass are all good things for me to track during my recovery. I also purchased Garmin's blood pressure cuff. Now along with the Garmin tactical watch I already had I'm able to see all my health stats in one app. The user data is easy to access, to retrieve and easy to share with the cardiologist. My weight and blood pressure for yesterday ... last week ... last month all there. Exceedingly happy with the scale itself and all the Garmin products I own!

Has some bugs

Every morning I get on the scale and weight myself, then get off, after the screen turns off I have to tap the scale to get it to turn back on and usually the hour glass shows up. Sometimes the hour glass screen syncs the scale with my phone, but usually I have to wait, weigh my self again, and get back to the hour glass screen a second time before it will actually send data to the app. Occasionally it gets stuck in a screen that shows the scale and app connected, but the app shows no activity, takes 15minutes for that screed to go away so most of the time I have to take the batteries out to force it to stop. Gets stuck in that screen at least once a day. So minus one star for the app never syncing on the first try, and minus a second for it constantly freezing. Minus a third star cause sometime I can't get it to turn on at all.
