The mushrooms were old and it very fresh.

This version of Portabella Mushrooms are tasteless. They have no flavor whatsoever.

I bought these mushrooms the other day and today when i went to open them they were all molded. I am very disappointed.

I bought 2 packs of these to make a large batch of stuffed mushrooms. I washed them (yes, washed), and let them dry. I went to prep them, and they smelled SO BAD of manure that I thought I hadn't cleaned them well enough. I washed them again. I threw all of them in the sink with cool water, let them soak, and cleaned them again. Repeated all steps. They still stunk. I couldn't detect a mushroom smell at all, just manure. My husband couldn't smell mushrooms either. This was true for both packs. What the heck?! I've made stuffed mushrooms many times, and have never seen this. There were large chunks of manure in the mushroom packaging. I know this is what they're grown in, but if they're thoroughly cleaned, why is the stench still there? I threw them away and will not get them again. This was my first time getting them from Sam's.

Make sure you look closely before buying. Almost every mushroom in the package had growth on them that was fuzzy. They went straight in the trash not even 30 min after purchasing them.

Good product. Always fresh. I purchase monthly and sometimes twice a month and use in casseroles, omelettes, stir fries, in appetizers, or just as a side dish

We used to buy these all the time, then I noticed the packaging label changed so I think it was coming from a different location. The new ones are awful. The smell is overpoweringly fishy, they are either fuzzy or slimy, and the last package we got someone had literally carved into one of the mushrooms while the packaging itself looked fine, so it had to have happened before the store. That was the icing on the cake for us. No more of these until the distributor changes again.
