I bought it to clip plants.  It was not effective at this.  It could cut paper and cardblard pretty good.  For me it was not a good product and I returned it.  I was especially disappointed because I bought an electric saw made by the same company and it continues to be excellent

Not good for clipping plants

I bought this to make it easier and faster to break down the big pile of cardboard I'd been accumulating. Getting it all in the recycling bin meant hours of slow, dangerous work with a utility knife. This little sucker got me through the pile in an hour.
