The Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set came super early, in tact, with no damage, and the price was $35 off which was awesome! I've always been a huge Lego fan, and so has my girlfriend. So when she sent me the link to the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set as an early Christmas present for her dad so we can all build it together as a family, I had to buy it. When it came in we were extremely satisfied with the purchase :)

I'm about 3/4 of the way though the kit. I just finished the first book. Overall I am extremely satisfied. I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan and this kit is perfect. I am extremely satisfied. Now, although I am extremely satisfied, I am also at the same time disappointed. I have some issues which I will get to in this post. Issue %231. In the instructions there are a few places where when it shows in the book where a piece goes, with some of them you cannot see the position the piece goes and won't discover until later that you put it on wrong. Then you have to take it apart to that step and figure out how it is to be positioned. Issue %232. Several of the pieces are the wrong color from what the book says. The piece is there, but for example, instead of tan it's dark green. That's not really that big of a deal to me because once the kit is put together you can't even see the piece. Issue %233. Keep in mind I'm 3/4 finished, but as of right now my kit is missing two pieces. The first piece is used in one of the buildings. I'm supposed to use a 4 stud piece, and instead of a 4 stud piece I was given a 5 stud piece. Would be an issue but I was able to supplement 4 one stud pieces from the extra pieces. So I don't really mind. The second missing piece is a tower piece, and I can't supplement that. So I'm really frustrated. When I'm finished, I'll try to edit this review if I'm missing anymore pieces.

this one is super fiddly. i got frustrated with it a lot more often than i usually do. I've done The Wave and Starry Night and both of those were easier and more enjoyable than this one and I'm a huge HP fan so it makes me sad to give this such a cruddy review. it's very cool looking but unless you've got the patience of a saint and in my experience, a wide array of spare pieces to choose from to replace the ones that are missing, I'd give this one a miss.

Fun and easy build. I love the details and the book has explanations of landmarks around the castle that are fun reads.

No characters are included because it's miniature compared to Harry Potter characters. I thought the castle would be twice the size.

It's LEGOs what more do I need to say. They are great but definitely priced way too high but all LEGO's are priced way too high

My eleven year old loved this and had it completed in 4 days. He loves it. It is on display in our house. It is very cool!

It is so detailed that any fan of Harry Potter will like it. It has so many things from almost all of the books.
