Reliable Traction in wet conditions

We've tried to find a tire cheaper than the Michelins and Pirellis for this car, and settled on the Turanza. Although prices have gone up, the quality of these tires are quite constant and having them on the car gives my wife an added sense of assurance on wet and wintry roads.

Turanza quiet track

Above average tires for wet road / dry road. Extremely comfortable and quiet. The only concern is the low mileage I received on these tires. At about 48000 miles I had a side wall rip/ tear , the cause unknown. But realizing I needed to buy a tire, I looked at the other three and found the wear bar showing. I replaced with the same tires as I put on about 42000 miles per year at high speeds and lots of rain.

Tires lasted only 40-45% of Life

After just 31,000 miles of modest driving, I'm down to only 3/32 tread left on this Turanza Quiettrack. These tires are supposed to be 80k mile tires, yet so many reviews found here and elsewhere, specifically since the start of 2023, are rightfully criticizing the durability of this tire. Many people are experiencing less than 35k miles on this 80k tire. This tire was released about 3 to 4 years ago, and now we see the true life of this tire. I'm curious why recent reviews on this Turanza page are written for the Alenza tire. That is supposedly a different tire, but those reviews are starting to appear hear. This is peculiar.

Tread life overstated

My 3year old Turanzas with only 25000 on them are down to 4/32. If I were to run them down to 2/32 I would get approximately 30000 miles on a tire that is advertised as an 80K tire. Since I live in Wisconsin running anything less than 4/32 in the winter is foolish. Bridgestone does not offer warranty unless they are down to 2/32.

Worst tires ever

I brought these tires for 2 reasons: 80K warranty, and they are supposed to be quiet. I mean, "quiet is in the name"! Don't yet know about tread life, but I can say these are the absolute nosiest tires I have ever had. How noisy? Like being in a pickup truck with knobby tires noisy. And the noise starts at 30 MPH and gets worse as speeds increase. There is also a lot of vibration. I had the installer re-balance the tires. I had them rotated. I made sure the tires were correctly mounted with the "outside" sidewall on the outside. I played with different air pressures. I tried driving on different road surfaces. Nothing helps. i can only surmise there is a defect in manufacturing, perhaps out of round, broken belts inside, something. I could not be more disappointed in these.

Did not help

Replaced new factory Kumho Majesty 225/40/18 with Ridgestone Turanza "Quiet Track" the road noise did not improve. I can now attribute some of this noise to the auto itself. I'll probably wind up selling this car with less than 2000 miles. Noise is driving me crazy.

Great tires

I purchased these tires a couple of weeks before this review. I have drove to 3200 round trip through mountains, rain and dry conditions so far. These tires are quiet. They gave us a very comfortable and smooth ride. They also held up well at highway speeds. I am glad I purchased these tires. Top of the line!

Some of the best tires available

So far having swapped from a Michelin Premier A/S to the Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack the significance I see firstly is a much snappier handling and responsiveness, the ride is absolutely dead silent on highway and very Low on regular city streets, if you plan to have a radio on you'd never hear the tires at all. Even with it turned off on highways you don't hear tire noise so that's impressive and the Treadwear is the highest available on market. Match that with the biggest trial period (Firestone offers a 90 day buy and try) where as the closest competitor I've found is Michelins 30 day satisfaction guarantee. You'll be hard pressed to find a flaw in these tires. So far I love them and will run Bridgestone on all my vehicles

New Lo Miles Review

Turanza Quiettracks have improved my satisfaction with this vehicle dramatically. Initially purchased to reduce noise but I found that the comfort and overall handling of the car with these tires is remarkably better. I guess I just held on to the OEM tires too long and I didn't know what I had been missing out on with the Turanza's! Also enjoyed a really positive experience buying and installing at local store.

Poor tread wear

These were the OEM tires on my Camry. at 30,000 miles I started noticing a lot of road noise, the tires were beginning to saw-edge. They were wiped out at 37,000 miles. The dealership aligned the car and the caster/camber was out which does effect saw-edge so I bought another set of the OEM tires. I got to 35,000 miles on this second set and they began to saw-edge. At 47,000 they were needing replaced due to normal wear and the saw-edge was loud. Again, the dealership aligned the car and the caster/camber was out a bit. Again, replaced with the same OEM. I now have 25,000 miles on this set and they are saw-edging with noise. I took the car into the dealership because I thought this was an alignment issue, the alignment was nearly perfect which right away shifted my blame from the car to the tires (yeah, it took 3 sets for me to figure it out.) I'm a work commuter and 95% of my driving is 65 mph highway and 70 mph interstate. I drive like a grandpa, any corners I do take I take slow and the tires and car are treated with kid gloves. Now I have to live with the road noise until it's time for a new set. Not a chance in this world or another that I'll buy this tire again. Further, I'll buy a tire from a different manufacturer. I'll add one last thing, the Toyota service department manager would not blame the car and he would not blame the tire, he basically bailed on any blame of anything. I suspect since Toyota has a contract with Bridgestone to supply a lot of tires there is probably a policy of not passing blame onto a tire that Toyota provides.
