I've used a bunch of the smaller waterproof ones, and plug in outdoor speakers, but this has it all.... and more. Let's hit some topics SOUND - BOOM! This thing cranks sound. Super clear. Great range surprisingly and of course - it's all about that bass. FEATURES - waterproof - check. Party lights - super check. Easy pairing - check. Battery life - checkity check. Not sure what else you want. STYLE - I mean look at it. Straight from the future of sound. This is great for basically anyone. Highly recommend

The light fixtures are super cool and the sound quality is spectacular and not to say how the bass sounds. Extremely happy with the product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this bluetooth speaker, its loud and sounds great. It has nice bass and highs. It has a waterproof cover in back for external jacks. It also has a light show with many different variations or no lights at all. Its just awesome.

This speaker lasted literally less than a day. Did it work? Yes, and it worked quite well, for an hour or two. Then, it just stopped and made a strange sound and the lights started going haywire. We tried to turn it off and could not. When I picked it up from the pool, I noticed it was about 3x as heavy and filled with water. The seal on the back was still very tightly locked. We then noticed a very small tear in the fabric of the right speaker, where we assume the water had gradually made its way in. The light show kept going, and there was no turning it off. We left the unit in the car overnight and when we got in the vehicle to go back to the pool the next day, one of our children cried, "Mom, the speaker is boiling!" The speaker began roaring out garbage static, like an old television with the volume on max tuned to a channel with no signal. The volume knob was all the way down, and yet, it still churned and gurgled, frightening the children. "It's gonna explode!" one of them cried. We took the beast out of the car and left it on the side of the driveway to die. The extra star in this review is for the battery, because it took two days for it to finally die. Great battery life! We are not sure if the speaker had been torn before we received it or during playback, but in any case, the quality is definitely of concern, because we hadn't had it to the max and the speaker is inherently its own amp and should have some sort of self-protection mode, if it wasn't already damaged prior to shipping. Had this incident not happened, we would have raved about how cool it was to have a floating speaker, and the sound, for a bluetooth portable, is definitely decent for a basic outdoor family gathering. But once the speaker begins drowning and having a robotic disco light show meltdown and starts screaming like a techno banshee at your children, you need to Old Yeller the sucker. I tried to write a review on Amazon, but they suspiciously would not allow this item to be reviewed there, because I guess they're pushing it now and a lot of people have had some bad stuff to say, and they're trying to unload their zombie Rainbow Brite technogeists. Being the gluttons for punishement we are, we did ask for a replacement unit, and I will give this another chance, because we have an upcoming trip and that was the purpose for the purchase. If we get another lemon/demon, I will be done with Altec Lansing. But, if it goes well and survives the remainder of the summer, I may be back to update. So, in summary - great fun, and decent sound, until the colorful disco-death spiral, and then, a somewhat comical, but overall pesky electronic poltergeist that needs to be taken out back and shot in the face.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow I love the Altec Lansing- mix 2.0 Bluetooth party speaker. We used it out on our new deck to listen to good music while entertaining friends. It sounded like a nice big stereo system . Had real nice quality sound. Love how easy it is to pair with Bluetooth and take virtually anywhere and use. 2 hours of non stop party music.

Sounds very good, especially for the price. Same price as much smaller and poorer sounding Bose and JBL units. It is of course bigger so that's why. Got it for use in my old off-road vehicle which needs a complete new stereo system. This will be just as good, portable and was only $60 + tax. Will be good for campsite IF I play music there which I usually don't.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am over the moon with this speaker system. The sound quality is excellent. Techno, classical, funk, R&B, screamo, Christian, whatever you throw at it, it sounds amazing on the mix 2.0. the kids love the light show included, and usually put it on the frantic , multi color mode that goes with the music. My wife and I like the slow fade color change option. I can play my playlists from my phone, or any app service, and i can also connect via the aux cord. I do not use it for phone calls but it says you can take those as well! I do love the fact that I can take it to the beach. with the waterproof rating I can be confident I will not damage it. We go weekly and its nice to have crisp clear sound even at low volume. I no longer have to do the old, place my phone in a cup trick and stay super close so I can hear over the ocean. the battery life is tremendous. I have not had to recharge after a full day of use. it is also, for its size, much lighter than the old boom boxes we had in the 80s. This is my favorite portable speaker ever, hands down. I do not own two- but I think the bluetooth stereo pairing option is an excellent option. tons of value in this product.
