Super Long-Lasting Battery

I bought this to replace my 45 forerunner. I run up to 30 miles a week, and these base models provide everything I could need or want. I’m not a competitive runner, but an athlete as a lifestyle. What sets this 55 forerunner apart is its long-lasting battery: two whole weeks, as opposed to its predecessor’s mere few days. If you don’t need all the fancy bells and whistles of the significantly more expensive models, most of whose own batteries won’t last this long, then I highly recommend this model. Get the acqua color!

Great for running!

I bought this with running in mind and it did not disappoint. I appreciate the long battery life to make charging less of a hassle. I also like that I only need to press a couple buttons to start and finish run. The heartbeat, VO2 max information, and GPS mapping is useful for me.

None

Program needs to complete rewrite. From my laptop or my phone, either one, not necessarily both, in an outline format, I should be able to see all the primary, secondary, tertiary screens ending with a series of screens for to record the activities/results. I should be easily able to select out and turn off both the primary and the second etc. facilities that I don’t wanna see or use or have to deal with. Obviously, the buttons would have to be organized in such a man who has to deal with this approach. One I’m not interested in most of those things and two I don’t want to take the time to learn how to use them. I want just the basics. Fitness doesn’t have to be the complicated and like every other program 98% of the universe are smart use by 20% of the Software capability We just no reason why it has to be so difficult to use the device. This is about my fifth Garmin forerunner-device and my second in just the last month however, referring to the first one because it was just ridiculously complicated. I figured cheaper models would have lost confusion installed. The instruction that I saw that came with this device were essentially nonexistent I have used an Apple Watch an older model that has to be recharged every day which I simply won’t tolerate which is the reason continue to use Garmin, for the time being.

Forerunner 55

The watch is very stylish, lightweight, connects well with the app. The navigating on the watch is very clumsy difficult to navigate, and the display is not bright at all, when you wear the watch in sunlight, it’s easy to see, but while you’re inside a building, it’s hard to see even with it set up to glow in dark settings. Good news it’s not an expensive watch, but you get what you pay for.

I would recommend taking a look at your backlight settings to ensure that it is properly configured while using the watch in different scenarios. With this watch there can be two different backlight settings on the watch. One during an activity and one without. Below will be a link with instructions on how to check the backlight settings. http://ms.spr.ly/6425t8tpU

Can't Beat the Value

I got the 45 several years ago and when that one gave out I switched right over to the equivalent 55. It integrates seamlessly into my life with easy notifications, music controls, and of course, tracking diverse activities, all for a very reasonable price. They should start calling it the forerunner 67.

Replacing Fitbit, getting used to

I've always been a fan of Fitbit but after Google bought it and changed things, I swore I wouldn't buy another once my current one died. I tried a Garmin once and fought it every step of the way, preferring the Fitbit app and functionality. However, I bit the bullet and went Garmin again out of principal. Things have changed a lot since the last time I tried one and I like it much better this time around. I like the "Battery" charging instead of Sleep Score. This one is not a touch screen, it has buttons to click and I'm getting used to that after having a touch screen watch. The band is very feather light. Overall, I think I'm going to like this watch.

So much fun!

I love this watch. It's great and motivating to use GPS and see the route I ran and post to Strava app. The watch is easy to us, record my runs and see the breakdown of all the details. Before this watch I had a Fitbit and the Garmin is beyond an improvement. Thank you Garmin!

Perfect for daily running, races, and light cycling

Very easy to use for my daily runs and for some cycling commutes. Has tons of stats and info that I need along with some additional stuff. I wish that there were more activity options that I did not have to download, and music would be nice but that might just have to be part of an upgrade further down the road.

Forerunner 55 a win

I love the simplicity of this watch. It is a great price with everything you need for a great workout and tracking your performance. I pair it with my iPhone and I have the HRM 600. Not sure about the later, but the watch is well worth it. I would honestly say beginners and experts alike could drastically benefit from what this watch provides.

Simple, but not perfectly accurate

I love the simplicity of the watch, i only needed a watch to track my bike rides. That was the only feature I really wanted. I have noticed that it does not accurately count my steps, and the mileage and elevation gain seem to be a little off as well.
