Customer reviews for PHILIPS 55" Class 4K Ultra HD Roku Smart LED HDTV - 55PFL4756/F7 forGreat TV
This TV was an upgrade from an older plasma TV set. While the picture quality is not the same as the plasma set, this TV weighs 1/4 of the weight, and offers a larger image size, which makes it perfect for watching movies. The Roku interface is intuitive, and offers countless choices of things to watch. We have discovered some old time favorites in the free channels, and the limited commercials are easy to put up wih.
So far its good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had the television setup a few days, but so far its working properly and no issues. Audio quality is so-so, but that's true of most Televisions these days. I haven't used the roku and wifi connections much yet either. I have only connected it to cable TV. Picture quality is nice and clear and crisp and very colorful! I would recommend this produce to anyone looking for an affordable smart TV!
Great value.
I wasn't familiar with the product but the fact that it was a Philips Roku TV, gave me the confidence to purchase it. I really love everything about the TV. It has a great image, a very nice sound and it is very easy to use. I had people over to watch a couple of events and everyone complemented the product. I am a very happy customer!
Beautiful Picture
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am loving the Philips 50" Class Roku Smart TV. The picture quality is amazing and of course, the Roku features are the best. Set up was a breeze, the TV will walk you through the basics and then you go to your computer or other devices to set up your Roku account and it walks you through the rest. You set up who your cable provider is and it will make suggestions on both free and paid apps. There are a TON of free apps! Set up to wifi and our cable remote was the same. We use this TV in our family room where our family gathers most often. We like to be able to connect our mobile devices to show videos we have taken. We also like to watch youtube and with the Roku Smart features these are just a few simple steps to cast from your phone to the TV. There are also apps to watch them right there. We like to use our phone because it is much easier to search. We have 2 other Roku TVs so we are very familiar with them, this one has the best picture quality so far. The only thing we don't care for s the Roku remote and have yet to figure out how to prevent from having to use both remotes when turning on the TV and getting to where we want to be. The remote does not have numbers or anything it is very basic. Overall this is an amazing tv and the Roku feature is our favorite. We could just about get rid of paying for cable service with all that comes with having a Roku TV.
Easy to set up and operate.
Bought a different “smart” tv first but it's operation was glitchy within hours of setup and only got worse the next day. Took it back and bought this one and have not been sorry. The only thing that could be better is the way you have to scroll through the guide to change channels on broadcast tv. If yo are in the middle of the live tv menu you have to scroll forever to get to your local broadcast channels. Doesn't have voice on supplied remote but you can do that with the phone app. Saying “channel 6.1 will not change the channel either you have to use the cumbersome scroll through the guide. That is the ONLY negative I have found. And the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.
Smart TV with Roku
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Phillips 50" smart tv with Roku is light and was easy for myself to setup. The picture quality is really great compared to the TVs I have had in the past. This is my first smart tv and I am pleased with the ease and convience of use that the Roku smart tv gives me. The remote is small and compact and quick buttons to access specific platforms is cool. I had heard of Roku but never had used one before so I was surprised at all the free content that is provided in that platform. There are hours of things to watch from TV series, documentaries, to movies. Looking forward to watching more Roku TV.
Great TV
Purchase this tv in April when I damaged the screen on the tv in our family room. This tv is AWESOME. No more "two remotes" because I didn't need my firestick to access all the apps we use. Everything was basically loaded and the remote provides ease of use. Netflix and Hulu are two of the most used apps in my home and the one-touch option is great.
Great picture quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We put this TV in my mom's sitting room. The picture quality and sound is excellent no sound bar needed in her small room which is a bonus. Super easy to set up and program, took us less than 20 mins . The remote is super simple and and easy to use which is good as my mom gets a little frustrated with the more technical remotes. She is able to to access her programs with ease. Great TV for all ages, would definitely recommend. .
Excellent features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Phillips 50" Class Roku Smart 4k UHD LED HDTV w/HDR was one of the best televisions that I have had. The picture was crystal clear the sound was a little low at first but when it loaded up it was amazing it loaded exceptionally fast. It was super easy to operate just the best by far. I absolutely loved the roku button all of my favorite apps and channels at my fingertips.I have already recommended it to my family and friends
Impressive Sound & Screen
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am loving the different features on this Philips Roku 4K TV. I had not used Roku before but the platform is easy to setup and easy to use. There are plenty of setting options which are completely customizable. Anything you can think of is there to change to your liking. Yes the HDMI ports on the back are too close together but for those wanting to still use a firestick just use the extender cord that comes with it. You may find you don't need your firestick with this TV since the main menu is a complete home base option that is customizable depending on which apps you already use and gives the ability to discover new ones. Home also shows what's connected into the HDMI ports and includes all the most popular channel app shortcuts and a Roku Channel. In the Channel Store it can sort by genres or other categories like Top Free Movies & TV or a section Watch with Cable which lists 87 channel options making it easy to add with one click as long as you have a cable account in order to access. Remote signal reader is on the bottom edge of the tv which makes it difficult to activate if the TV is not on the edge of the cabinet. I would like a larger remote with more button options. There is no input option you have to go to the main roku menu to select a different input. Cool feature when rewinding a show to replay a scene the closed captioning automatically comes on just for the segment I need to listen to again and then auto turns off when I get to the place I started the rewind. Another handy feature I have never seen before is Guest Mode which lets visitors log into their own subscription channels and lets you set the date of departure for auto sign out. Remote Volume control buttons are placed on the right side of the remote which is a new placement and can be awkward to get the hang of especially for left handers. However the volume is generous and much better than my other TVs. Normally I would have it set on 20 to 30 range but this audio is very clear and loud and I find I am using it between 10 to 18 range. Overall an excellent TV with built in streaming and impressive features.
