Customer reviews for Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack - 235/60R17 102H Tire forDry Rot
Last year I was told by a firestone tech that my tires had dry Rot, the tires were then 6 years old. I was told to make an appointment so management could look at them. I was told at the appointment that there was no dry Rot. Earlier this year same thing occured, with one exception rather than making an appointment I popped in and asked if they had time to look at them. They did and said no dry Rot. This past week same thing, a tech checking my tire pressure told me they have dry Rot. I immediately asked for others to look at them. I have 2 tires that are 2015, originals and 2 that were replaced on road hazard. The 2 that are from 2015 show dry Rot. For the first 4 years the car was driven a few times a week maybe 50 miles a week. The car was parked in a garage when not being driven. I bought these tires because of the 80k warranty. In the last 3 years the car has been driven much more and spent time outside. The tires still have plenty of thread, probably around 25k. The manager at Firestone informed me that even though there are still miles left on the warranty and I had purchased road Hazzard, the tires are not covered for dry Rot after 5 years. He made it clear by his tone and and posturing he was not open to any discussion. I will never buy tires with high mileage warranty again. I have been a loyal Firestone customer for 30 years...obviously that means nothing to them.
Excellent Tire for Ride,Noise, Performance
I've had the tires on my 2014 Prius model 3 for only about a month, but am highly impressed by their great ride comfort and very low noise. I am particularly very pleased with their excellent performance in heavy rain. Even at 65 mph in wet conditions, there is no hydroplaning in straight/normal highway conditions. Technically, they are not meant for a hybrid, because they are not low rolling resistance tires (LRR). At manufacturer psi, I immediately feel the change in ride (nice soft ride) but a sticky feel, and see lower fuel performance over multiple tank fills when compared to LRR tires. However, I deliberately chose these tires because I was tired of the constant loud road noise of my LRR tires, and wanted to see how these 'normal' higher end tires performed. I still get okay mileage for me (range of low to mid 40's mpg per trip) with mostly highway driving on a 64 mile round trip commute, but the ride is immaculate and noise is considerably less which is more of a priority to me than the high mileage of LRR. Looking at the tread, you can see the deep groves that help give the tire it's excellent wet traction. My wife has a 2014 Prius V, but I would not recommend these for the V version because it is a heavier car with the same engine as normal Prius, which means your mpg would likely go down to low-to-high 30's, which would not be acceptable for that car. Overall, an excellent tire if your priorities are nice soft quiet ride with excellent handling in normal and wet conditions. Again, mine are on a Prius, so I understand the mileage issue, but it's not a priority for me. If it were, I would need to stick with LRR tires to get the typical 50-60 mpg of a Prius.
Tires lasted only 40-45% of Life
After just 31,000 miles of modest driving, I'm down to only 3/32 tread left on this Turanza Quiettrack. These tires are supposed to be 80k mile tires, yet so many reviews found here and elsewhere, specifically since the start of 2023, are rightfully criticizing the durability of this tire. Many people are experiencing less than 35k miles on this 80k tire. This tire was released about 3 to 4 years ago, and now we see the true life of this tire. I'm curious why recent reviews on this Turanza page are written for the Alenza tire. That is supposedly a different tire, but those reviews are starting to appear hear. This is peculiar.

80,000 Mile Tires?
Replaced my original factory tires at 87,000 miles, they were at 3/32nds. 27,000 miles on my Bridgestone's and I'm at 4/32 on three tires and 3/32 on one. No cupping or uneven wear. Struts are good, had an alignment done with tire change and rotated every 6,000 miles. Not what I expected from these tires. Would have done just as well by buying 30,000 tires.

Life?
Tires were loud to begin with. Service provided by the local Toyota dealer up to 25,000 mile. I performed the maintenance thereafter to include oil changes and tire rotations. The sound continued to increase to unbearable. Last rotation at 40,000 found the three out of the four tires had belts either slipped or broken. I had to buy new tires. These tires had a life expectancy of 80,000 miles. I am a very unsatisfied customer. I am buying Michelins as a replacement.

Tires lasted only 40-45% of Life
My last review was not posted (SMH), so trying again. As with many other consumers who purchased this tire 3 years ago, I got nowhere close to 80k miles on it. I've driven 31k miles and have just 3mm tread remaining. Modest driver, tires rotated and properly inflated. So many others have complained about the same issue this year, so it's clear that this tire, which was released about 4 years ago, is complete garbage from a longevity perspective.

Durability of the tires are not so great
I purchased my car in October of 2019, it came with the Turanza tires and I only drive them for 35,000 miles and my dealership told me I should replace them due to low thread level, it is NOT what I expect from Bridgestone as those tires should last close to 80,000 miles as advertised.

Poor tread wear
These were the OEM tires on my Camry. at 30,000 miles I started noticing a lot of road noise, the tires were beginning to saw-edge. They were wiped out at 37,000 miles. The dealership aligned the car and the caster/camber was out which does effect saw-edge so I bought another set of the OEM tires. I got to 35,000 miles on this second set and they began to saw-edge. At 47,000 they were needing replaced due to normal wear and the saw-edge was loud. Again, the dealership aligned the car and the caster/camber was out a bit. Again, replaced with the same OEM. I now have 25,000 miles on this set and they are saw-edging with noise. I took the car into the dealership because I thought this was an alignment issue, the alignment was nearly perfect which right away shifted my blame from the car to the tires (yeah, it took 3 sets for me to figure it out.) I'm a work commuter and 95% of my driving is 65 mph highway and 70 mph interstate. I drive like a grandpa, any corners I do take I take slow and the tires and car are treated with kid gloves. Now I have to live with the road noise until it's time for a new set. Not a chance in this world or another that I'll buy this tire again. Further, I'll buy a tire from a different manufacturer. I'll add one last thing, the Toyota service department manager would not blame the car and he would not blame the tire, he basically bailed on any blame of anything. I suspect since Toyota has a contract with Bridgestone to supply a lot of tires there is probably a policy of not passing blame onto a tire that Toyota provides.

3rd set, no more Bridgestones
I'm on my 2nd set of Turanza Quiettrack tires after having "upgraded" from the Serenity Plus model. After only 28k miles, I've been told by the Firestone dealer/service center that I need to replace them. Sidewalls are cracking, the tread is so low that they won't rotate them anymore, and two have flat spots. I have had them regularly rotated and balanced. I had the same kind of lifespan from the Serenity Plus. The only reason I stayed with Bridgestone is to take some advantage of the pro-rated wear applied to the Quiettracks. It's unfortunate that these don't last - especially for an 80k rated tire. They are quiet, do well in rain and overall a good driving experience. But the expense is nowhere worth it and I'm moving on from Bridgestone.

Turanza Quiettrack
I thought I had "decent" tires on my car, until ... enter the Bridgestone Turanza. Just WOW! What a world of difference. A quiet and smooth comfortable ride. Amazing performance on dry and wet pavements. The GRIP and performance on these tires are unbelievable, especially on wet pavement. I've never felt safer with any other tire. Am never going back to other tire brands. Am sticking with Bridgestone.
