The fish were as slimy as the slim at the bottom of a pail with fresh caught sunfish. It was gross & I couldn’t eat one. I returned the jar & will never buy that brand again.

My husband opened the jar and noticed the seal under the lid was not sealed. The liquid in the jar was slimy, we threw it away. It was purchased at Sam's Club in Dubuque

I prefer this brand over others. Our grandson is eight, and he has been enjoy this brand since he was three. "No, i dont want a pickle as I'm not a fan. Do you have any of that good pickled herring?"

Herring at its best

I thought I would take a chance and buy this Wild Herring. Turned out to be a Great and Tasty buy.

This is the original pickled herring I grew up with, just as tasty and good quality as ever.

The sauce was not the correct consistency...normally I really like this herring but the last jar was off

The cap was loose and the seal had come loose. the fish spoiled. I had ordered online and didn't notice till I got home

I purchased 2 jars on 04/01/2024. Best used date NOV 10 24 03143CS. Opened 1st jar, very slimy, long strings of slime hanging from the spoon when I lifted out a portion. Second jar the same. Chunks of fish fell apart in my mouth before I could chew them. No odd taste or smell, flavor and color was not off, just extremely slimy. I experienced the same not quite as bad 2 weeks ago. I have eaten this product for over 50 years ( I'm 74) and never experienced this. Called Vita customer support and they said they will follow up. I will hang on to the 2nd jar in case you need it Vita. This apparently has gone on for some tine looking back at the recent 1 star feedback. 40 years experience in the industry as a food scientist tells me you should be reading your 1 star customer reviews although I don't see how this could pass QC, .........QC should be out shopping samples once in a while.......Vita, take note.
