Never knew I needed it.

First time I got a smartwatch like this, before I had Apple Watches and similar, with bright and colorful screens. This is a different beast, it goes a whole month between charges, the screen is always on, it has buttons instead of a touchscreen...etc. What I found is that it demands less attention from me but is always there, reliable and nice looking. It performs all of his duties without showing off. So I hope it lasts me a long time. I highly recommend it, just try it and see how it goes.

Very Very Happy, everything I need

I bought this watch a couple months ago and am more than satisfied. it has all the options on need and with a learning curve I am now comfortable with the the watch controls and the app. Next undertaking, feed to fitbit app as my wife is apple and fitbit and I am now Garmin and Apple and soon to be Android. The fitbit app is simpler and doesn't have all the overhead. I will figure it out. Thanks Garmin, love the watch, it's better than I expected.

Love it

Replacing my Vivoactive 3 with this watch and was not sure on how I would feel about the lack of Touch screen. LOOVVVVEEE IT! Outdoor GPS is great but that is to be expected from a Garmin. Love the features and REALLY LOVE the treadmill accuracy. NOticed the other day at 5 miles that it hit 5 miles the same exact time my treadmill did. Wowsers. I do wish it was slightly bigger but I am probably in the minority but, that is not a negative. Just a me issue.

I've been looking at Garmin watches for a while now and decided on the Instinct 2 simply because it works almost the same as the other watches, but it's a little more money conscientious. I love my watch for all the activities I do: swimming, hiking, golf. You name it, it does it!

The same

So I have the solar instinct but not the 2. I just bought the instinct 2 for the clarity but nothing really has change from one watch to another. The features of the new watch is not much of the difference only if you have the solar edition on the instinct 2 you will get the Apple Pay. And long battery life. For the price I would suggest to wait until the price goes down and then purchase it.

Apple to Garmin

I am glad to have switched from Apple to Garmin. This is a far better fitness watch and the battery anxiety is a thing of the past! I wish I knew how to make a repeat sprint workout, but other than that, it's awesome. The morning report is surprisingly valuable with the workout readiness and sleep reports being my favorite. I also like that its focus is not a smartwatch. I enjoy having the fitness and stats on my wrist and my phone on my phone… and not a mixup of both.

Best watch I've ever owned

I literally use some feature of this watch every single day. I love the workout tracking and fitness features. The GPS works great and I've taken it on multiple hiking trips and use the tactical features during military training. Whether you're an expert or a beginner, this watch is for you. Affordable, rugged, versatile are only a few words to describe this watch. I can't praise it enough. My next one will have the solar capability on it.

versatile watch

Bought this watch primarily for tracking HR while mtn bike riding. I have had lots of trouble with the HR straps over the years. Garmin actually comped me a HRM-Pro Plus strap and that has worked well so far. The watch misses some peak HR efforts at times which is expected with wrist-based measurements. Otherwise very close stats to my Edge 830. I like the sleep tracking info. The workout suggestions are good and are based on my HRV and previous intensity minutes. The watch syncs with my trainer and controls the resistance/watts based on the prescribed workout. Nice long battery life and you don't have to press any buttons to see the watch face. Garmin customer service has been very good to me over the years.

Does everything it says, and does it well.

This is not an apple watch, or a Samsung watch. It has the smartphone features it advertises, but let's cut to the chase. You pay the pricetag for the sensors. 02/heart rate/gps capability. The fitness tracking is great. The gps is great. All of the glances and everything work great.

Pretty good - happy with the purchase

Switched from an Apple Watch as I was tired of the lack of battery life. Pretty happy with what I got. Pros was a better HR tracking, battery life and some of the garmin recovery features are pretty cool. Downsides, the obvious - screen isn't as pretty and no apple pay. The only thing I'm not happy about is the weather. It really has a poor algorithm on where to get weather. Have to use the GPS and then it uses that as your location so if you go for a hike in the mountains... well your weather will be wrong for days (until it just stops working waiting for another GPS location).
