Disappointed in the "upgrade"

I purchased the 2S, and due to inconsistent readings, contacted Garmin who helped with an exchange. I went with the 2, as my previous watch was the Instinct, and I liked the size. I continue to have issues with inconsistent readings on my preferred wrist. Customer Service suggested my tattoo could be interfering with reads. My tattoo is one simple word. And, I wear it on the non-preferred wrist, it is in my way. It is more consistent, which is interesting, as I have a tattoo on this wrist also. I did not have these issues with Instinct. So, be cautious if you have ink. I like the features of the Instinct, I simply wish it was consistent in readings.

Love the features

I came from another smartwatch, and I am glad I made the change. I love the battery life, the features, the morning routine, and customization options. Some may detract due to the lack of touch screen, but I was able to adjust to using the side buttons rather quickly. Overall, I have been really impressed with this watch and the features.

Great features, but they use battery power

Does everything they say. Probably more than I can figure out, but the battery did not last long enough for my expectations when using so many features. I returned it and bought the solar edition so I shouldn't have to worry as much about the battery.

worthy upgrade

Coming from original Instinct Solar. Wasn't sure it was worth an upgrade but jumped on holiday sale price, glad I did. Screen resolution is a small but noticeable improvement. Upgraded sensors provide a ton more data. I'm enjoying the recommended daily training runs. Went with non-solar and don't regret it. I'm not doing week-long trips or ultras so battery life is plenty good for me. At full price, probably not worth going from Instinct to I2, but totally worth it at sale price. Highly recommend it if you're new to Garmin or coming from an older/lower tier model.

Great battery life and it tracklots of information

I have now owned this watch for about a month now. I only need to charge it about once ever 8 days which is great since I usually use GPS for activities once a day. My prior watch would only make it about 2 days in between charges. There is also a lot of information tracked by the watch like body battery and training readiness. Both of these I find useful.

Perfect Combo Watch & Fitness Tracker

Picked this up about a month ago to replace a Fitbit Charge 4. While there are certainly differences between the two ecosystems, Garmin's Connect app is far superior and more focused on fitness, training, and all-around health. I was worried that the learning curve would be steep, but frankly it was fine and while importing my previous health data from Fitbit was not a simple procedure, I did get it imported and preserved my nearly two-year-long 10,000 steps/day streak, which I continue to maintain.

Great Watch for Tracking Workouts

Always-on display is easy to read outdoors or inside if there's at least a little ambient light, otherwise the backlight can be used. This makes the watch far more useful for sports/exercise tracking where you don't want to have to flick your wrist and wait for the display to wake up before you can see anything. Default display contains all the info I want instant access to, but it is highly customizable if you want to see other info by default. Large bezel size, relatively light weight, and micro-adjustable wrist band (lots of holes) combine to enable the watch to get a reliable heart rate even while running without having to cinch down on the strap and make the watch uncomfortable. It doesn't flop around on your wrist like heavier metal-framed watches. The lack of a touchscreen prevents accidental inputs messing up your workout data if you happen to brush against the screen. The raised bezel should protect the watch from damage in most drops/impacts. In summary, this is a good watch for someone who primarily wants to track workouts and considers the smart-watch features to be secondary. If your priorities are the reverse, you'll probably be happier with one of the prettier AMOLED watches.

Instinct 2 changed my life!

I purchased the Instinct 2 to pace myself on my annual pac test for wildland season. I was looking through the features and found the Garmin coach in the app. Using this inspired me to train for a 5k race and I've since signed up for many more races. This watch is verry durable and verry useful from beginners to experts.

Swapped iwatch for this great device

I had a iwatch 7 and I probably expected something it wants to be but is not. I did not like how it feels on a hand, bumpy design. I really hate touch screen and greasy fingerprints on it, hate daily routing recharging it. Basically it is a show off device which I do not need. My choice fell upon instinct 2 without solar. I absolutely love its functionality, it had all I need. Start excercise? Press button 3 times (you will not miss time screen buttons, no need to scroll and do extra moves). It knows when I wake up and go to bed just like apple product. I can disable alarm and hourly chime with 3 clicks. Interface and UX was done by real pro and I love it. Everything is easy to find and is easy to use. Barometer in iwatch? Never heard of it? Here you go, garmin gives it to you for less money :) Display is not colored but who cares? I need it functional. 27 days on a single charge, can you imagine it apple? Probably not cause you died 26 days ago :) It gives an impression of powerful device nevertheless. Compass is very responsive, pulse display is almost immediate. Probably regret for buying simplest version and not 2x but still love the device. I realize some like it and some hate it.

Great tool for an outdoor and health tracking

Bought this for myself after gifting my partner with with Vivoactive3. I love this watch. Simple looking, no unnecessary fancy features. Battery truly lasts 30 days, definitely decreases a bit with tracking skiing or hiking. Great little toy for tracking your health and activities!
